Golden Unicorn Mona Vale — Restaurant in Sydney

We will return, food was very good. Ordered 3 dishes from Chef’s recommendation (duck pancakes, honey mustard prawns and shredded beef Peking style) and two others. Enjoyed all.

Manager and staff were nice and friendly, I do try to engage for some level of rapport and they responded. Manager checked on us a few times. Restaurant almost full with diners from 6-8pm. Empty though as we left, Menulog driver busy however. BYO wine.

Decor minimalist- felt like they hadn’t quite finished moving in - but that’s possibly just me and the feeling I get from a painted concrete floor, maybe as you enter at the top of the red concrete staircase in need of a touch up, to the upper floor, it could have been the slight disorder around the kitchen door as it looked to be some chairs hiding a freezer - which may only be temporary?

As you turn to go the tables, the gold and red tablecloths are nice. We sat by the windows, which I was facing as my partner checked out kitchen activity with his view. I wouldn’t go there for the aesthetics personally, but for the food - yes. We will dine-in again I am sure as found a new favourite prawn...

I ordered a Chicken main meal about 3 weeks ago and half way through my meal i discovered that there was pieces of metal scourer through the meal...

Against my better judgement last Friday i placed an order with them. 1 main and 1 entree, I was told that it would be 45 minute delivery time. I live 2 minutes down the road. After 1 hour and fifteen minutes i called to get an ETA on the driver, They apologized and told me he would be there within 10 minutes. After 2 HOURS i called the restaurant and told them they could keep the food as i'd made other plans. They told me they would notify the driver. 10 minutes later the driver turned up on my doorstep and i had to be the one to tell him to take the food back and stick it.

Basically i was fed a pack of lies, got no serious apology, no follow up phone call and was inconvenienced to the tune of 2 hours on a Friday night. I will NEVER ever eat there again. Appalled and disgusted and as a business owner I'm very surprised they can treat new customers that way. Would avoid this place...

I’ve never even written a review but this restaurants food and customer service was so poor I couldn’t not. Honey chicken came with no honey Got a small boiled rice paid for a large Got no lettuce with the dang chow bou Usually I’m pretty easy if a restaurant has forgotten one thing but they stuffed up every aspect of my order. I called (very politely) to let them know and see if I could get a refund for the stuff I didn’t receive only to get hung up on, called a second time asking for the manager who told me “ you can have it free tonight but we don’t do delivery for this amount, so you will have to order more” It was probably around 20 dollars I needed refunded for a 70 dollar order which I paid for things I didn’t even receive I then heard them talking about me in the back ground of the phone call?
