Thought I will try out this place for lunch today. I ordered the Wanton noodle soup. The older waitress got my order wrong and came out with Wanton soup. I kindly went to tell her it’s the wrong order, and she created a commotion in front of all the other customers. She tried to blame it on me instead, saying that I didn’t tell her correctly. I’m sorry I don’t speak Cantonese, I repeatedly told her in English and even pointed at the order in the menu when I ordered it. It was a long wait too. Finally, the wanton noodle soup was served to me, it was the worst one I ever tasted. It was tasteless, the wanton taste like cheap frozen ones from supermarket, and the noodles were hard and half cooked. Also, the portion was small. Worst customer service and food ever. She did not even apologise or even say thank you to me when I paid for my meal, even though I said thank you to her. Usually, I’m forgiving and understanding, but I have not experience such ill treatment in a restaurant before. I will not recommend this place! I am so disappointed with my experience at the...

First time trying out Great Food in Carlingford Village Shopping Centre. It’s a no-frills, basic restaurant with zero ambience or decor, but wow, it was absolutely packed with the weekday lunch crowd when we went. I’m guessing it’s because they offer affordable lunch specials and have a huge menu with lots of variety.
We weren’t sure what their specialties are since it was our first visit, but we ordered:
Salt and pepper garlic pork ribs Shandong chicken Beef and bitter melon Beef flat rice noodles
All the main dishes came with rice, served in a pot for the table to share. Everything we tried was pretty good, especially considering the price.
If you’re not too fussed about a fancy setting and just want affordable, satisfying food, this is a solid spot to try if you’re in the area.
I’ve also uploaded photos of the menus posted around the walls of the restaurant. Some of them are in Chinese, which I can’t read, and Google Translate wasn’t much help with accuracy, but I hope the pictures will be useful for...
Read moreIt was first time I’ve been in this restaurant but sadly sitting there for 1 hours 15 mins for first dish after ordering and I can see all the diners after me already have had their services I believe because they spoke Cantonese. Service is basic and pool you need to bring menu yourself. The fish with heaps scales was good taste worth the only star and the soft shell crab was so priced that can’t even find a full piece of crab; the steamed shrimp was dirty and small, sorry no picture you can image yourself; tofu hot pot was warm but beef was spoiled. In a word it’s not good for first time visitor but if you are good at Cantonese maybe worth...
