Stumbled across this place as we couldn’t find a restaurant without a waiting time. Heading towards Manly and decided to stop and try Grumpy’s Wharf Cafe.... What a wonderful surprise, I’m not a chef but I’ve worked as a cook in an Italian restaurant for 5 years. I ordered the mussels and they are the best mussels I’ve ever had. The sauce was delicious, the mussels were large and tender. My Mum ordered the calamari, again the best ever. The batter was light and fluffy the calamari was so tender it melted in your mouth. For cafe food it was 5 stars āļø .... you could walk down the driveway and they had water view seating. This is truly a hidden gem šŸ’Ž

Had some Fish 🐟 and šŸŸ there today. Fish was really fresh and tasty. Chips were nothing special. Sauces that came with it was the normal squeeze sauces. You would think at $23 for a box of Fish&Chips they would hopefully make their own tartare sauce. Also had nuggets and chips. Again overpriced at $16. They have surcharges on Sunday of 15%. They do accept Dine vouchers but then you need to pay cash for the rest šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø. I don’t know if we met Grumpy, but there was a fellow that didn’t speak to the customers but couldn’t wait for them to leave before cleaning and wiping they tables. He did look grumpy!

Only if there were no star option! The WORST aƧai ā€œbowl.ā€ It consisted of 3 ingredients only! Little advice for the cafe, please search up how to make an aƧai bowl before listing it on your menu. Very obvious why it’s called grumpy cafe, the people were very grumpy especially the elderly man that served the breakfast.

My wife and I visited Grumpy's Wharf Cafe today for the first time and what a wonderful experience!! Greeted by Nick and his staff who were just such beautiful souls and such truly amazing people. We had the Bacon & Egg roll with Cappuccino, then we walked with the coffee to the back deck area overlooking the water and the Spit Bridge, so tranquil and just a beautiful setting to sit and enjoy something to eat and drink! The staff followed us about 10 minutes later with the 'Rolls Royce' of Bacon & Egg rolls to enjoy with our coffee. We can't wait to visit again and enjoy your amazing friendly service and the best coffee and food!!! Happy Birthday Nick!!!!! Many Happy Returns! It was such a pleasure to meet you and your staff today and I am sure that you will know who this review is from! Once again, amazing friendly service that is so "Alive and Well" and residing at Grumpy's Wharf Cafe!! Thank You all so much for the most brilliant time we spent at your Cafe!!! Jump in your car and visit Grumpy's Wharf Cafe, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Daniel &...

Absolutely love this cafƩ! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dƩcor is cozy yet modern, making it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done.

The coffee is top-notch—rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection. I tried their cappuccino and it was hands down one of the best I’ve had. Their pastries are fresh and delicious,You can tell they use high-quality ingredients in everything they serve.

The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Even during busy hours, service is quick, and they make you feel right at home.

Whether you’re a coffee or just looking for a great place to unwind, this cafĆ© is a must-visit. Can’t wait...
