We had our son's wedding reception on Sunday with 40 guests and we chose the "ultimate sharing feast" with several extra dish options added.

This is fine dining at it's best. We were looked after so well. Every guest commented on the presentation, quality and taste of every dish from the antipasto all the way through to the desserts and coffee and everyone left fully content and with great compliments.

The service was fast, and with lots of personality from the staff to add that special touch of fun. Gabriella catered to all our needs leading up to the function with her communication being excellent and making changes along the way as well as accommodating several people with dietary requirements covering vegan, gluten free and dairy free. I can personally say from experience, when people in our family have been noted with their dietary requirements at weddings, they have been catered for very poorly or not all all. This was not the case at Ormeggio.

The alternative selections presented were a huge hit with all those with dietary requirements, which is extremely important.

Even after the 5 hours were over, were were allowed to congregate outside and enjoy the ambience of the moonlight and moored boats on the water.

Despite good food, this was a disappointing night: I made an 8:30 reservation on their website earlier today. I feel the need to state this, because I realize that's a bit on the late side, and the staff made us feel like we were intruding from the moment we walked in. But again, please don't offer a reservation on your own website if you don't want customers.

Anyway, we asked for some wine and an entree to be ordered while we chose our main dishes. Our server said it would be "easier" if we just ordered everything at the same time. Fine.

The entree came and it was nice. It was cleared, and then no one checked in. At least 30 minutes went by. I'm not exaggerating.

At that point, our drinks were empty, so my husband flagged down a server to ask for another glass. Still waiting for main dishes ...

They finally arrived, and I have to say they were both excellent. (Orecchiette and frutti di mare.) Still, not a single person stopped by our table once they flopped the plates down. That was it for us, I guess. We had planned on having dessert because reviews said the tiramisu was excellent, so we waited. And waited. And waited. And eventually gave up.

Dirty plates still on our table 20 minutes later, I literally had to walk up to the host stand to request the bill. The woman gave it to me and then asked, "Would you like to leave...
