Orso Bayside — Attraction in Sydney

Our most sincere thanks to all of the Orso team that played such an important role in making our wedding day (9.10.2020) such a memorable occasion, it was a night that exceeded our expectations and we can’t thank you enough.

In February 2020, we chose Orso for our wedding venue as from the moment we first stepped inside the space, notwithstanding the fact that this was during your recent renovations, it felt like a relaxed environment and we were instantly comfortable there. The venue and staff delivered on the evening and we really couldn’t have asked for a more relaxed and pleasant environment to celebrate.

We loved the supplier list provided by Orso, in the end we went with multiple suppliers from their list and each of them was fantastic. It was a valuable resource to assist us in selecting reliable suppliers and it reflected Orso’s professionalism and experience that they had such a strong list put together. When we did our own research, we found that the same names from their list were the ones we kept hearing good things about. Likewise, the DJ that was provided was easy to work with and well organized, we couldn’t have asked for more from the DJ Orso provided.

The food was excellent, and our guests mentioned that the seated canapés worked well. We had provided our own champagne to be served on arrival until it ran out, likewise we requested the cake be packed away and kept for us, the staff followed these special instructions and ensured both things happened which we were very grateful for.

Regarding Covid specifically,

We were one of the couples that locked things in around the time NSW went into lockdown. Whilst we had questions, we thought that the way the venue contacted all of their booked couples and explained how they were going to focus their attention to the couples most immediately affected by the changes was very reasonable. Had we been one of those couples, we’d have been most appreciative of this approach. In a very tough position, Orso couldn’t have done more.

As we had interstate and overseas guests, we were appreciative of some flexibility around the final numbers and final deposit due date. We were dealing with daily changes to travel restrictions in the final weeks before the wedding and in the end, the week of our numbers being due we were able to have one cousin from SA fly up and make the wedding! This meant a lot to both Louise and I and wouldn’t have been possible without the venues understanding.

We both know how challenging it is at the moment to try and manage your responsibilities as a venue with the expectations of your guests. On the evening, your staff were excellent, we had multiple guests reflect on the evening and in the days since on just how normal a wedding it was. It exceeded our guests and our own expectations as a couple for how normal it felt, and we are so glad we went ahead with the day!

The venue always kept on top of the industry specific regulations and changes and whenever we had questions, Covid or generally, staff were available to us. Your spacing of tables, signing in of guests, sanitizing stations and signage were industry leading.

All of our dealings with Orso reflected an organised, professional and polished company (with a beautiful venue). They adapted to Covid and delivered exactly what we wanted from our wedding day notwithstanding the unprecedented times, we felt so lucky to be able to enjoy such a special day with all of our friends and family in what has been such a difficult year for so many people – In such difficult times for couples planning a wedding, we would thoroughly recommend anyone with any hesitation around planning their special day to push ahead, we really can’t stress enough just how normal the day felt for us and how many beautiful memories we now have together from our wedding day.

I cannot recommend Orso highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, and friendly, and made us feel truly valued.

Working with Adrianna leading up to our wedding was an absolute dream. She was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to assist with any requests or concerns we had. Her friendly demeanour, professionalism, and exceptional organizational skills made the planning process smooth and stress-free.

On the day of the wedding, we were in the capable hands of Sushant. He maintained the same level of professionalism as Adrianna and ensured that everything ran seamlessly. He checked in with us regularly to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His thoughtful gesture of handing us water to keep us hydrated amidst the excitement of the day truly showcased his attentiveness and dedication to ensuring our day was perfect.

Both Adrianna and Sushant played pivotal roles in making our wedding day a memorable and enjoyable experience. Their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction is commendable, and we are so grateful for their contributions to our special day. When we went for our first visit we walked in and knew Orso was where we wanted our special day. Amy greeted us with a lovely welcome and walked us through everything they offer. Over the following year we visited Orso and each time it became even more beautiful. Amy and Julie were so easy to communicate with and were extremely accommodating. My emails and calls with thousands of questions were answered straight away. At our final details meeting we met with Julie and we again were reminded that we were in the best hands possible. The staff at Orso were so professional and friendly and we knew our day would run perfectly!!! Amy and Julie always went above and beyond.

The day... Arriving at Orso on the day was a spectacular feeling. It was incredible to see the place so beautifully set up and our closest friends and family all standing in this magical location for us. Our vendors had arrived earlier and were supported by the Orso team to get set up. Our guests had been organised and directed to where they needed to be. The ceremony out on the wharf ran so smoothly. Orso had done a wonderful job setting up the ceremony for us and organising and directing our guests to where they needed to be. The reception was perfect from start to finish. The food was so delightful and delicious our guests are still talking about it! The view was stunning, from the afternoon sun shining through to the moonlight dancing on the water! The staff knew exactly what they were doing and we were catered to at every point of the day, they were so professional and helpful. There was so much attention to detail which made each guest feel special. Driving off in a water taxi to our hotel in Darling Harbour truly a special way to end a perfect day. We have had so many comments form guests raving about our wedding at Orso.

It is hard to put into words how grateful we are, we can't thank the staff enough for their help and contribution to our day, it was more perfect than we could have ever imagined.
