Happy Daze Cafe, Ashfield — Restaurant in Sydney

I was looking forward to coming here as I had seen it during my commute, so went on Sunday with my boyfriend and our friend. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly. But the food was a little bit disappointing to be completely honest. We were offered water when we first sat but we opted not to have any as all 3 cups were dirty both inside and out. My friend had a crunchy French toast which they said was more like deep fried dough. I ordered the smashed avo after seeing so many amazing reviews online. I was under the impression there would be 2 slices from the other reviews but I only received one (possibly an oversight on my part given I dont know if others asked for 2 or not). The bread was rock solid and burnt, so much so that my bf joked to get a steak knife. The toppings were fine though. I did notice from other photos that there are pomegranate on theirs, again I dont know if that's standard or specifically requested but I did not have any. I did have a matcha smoothie, and it was fairly subtle but deliciously creamy. My boyfriend had a burger and it was absolutely delicious. I wish I had picked it. I finally stopped by Happy Daze Cafe after passing by it so many times – and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I loved the vibe of the place. It has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed.

The coffee was spot on – smooth, rich, and just the right temperature. I also tried some food, and it was just as impressive. Fresh, tasty, and well-presented – you can tell they really care about quality.

The staff were another highlight. Friendly, attentive, and always smiling – they made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
