I was really disappointed with my recent visit to Gelatissimo. Despite there being 2-3 staff members behind the counter (posting one with no staff for privacy reasons), no one made an effort to greet or engage with me. It wasn’t even busy, so I was surprised by the lack of initiative. When I was waiting, I noticed that while serving a customer beside me, the gelato had dropped all over another flavour. The staff didn’t seem to care or attempt to clean it up, which made me uncomfortable. To make matters worse, there was also visible contamination on other flavours, and it was clear that the hygiene of the containers and fridges was poor. It was unsettling to think about the potential health risks, especially for people with allergies (chocolate contaminated by mango, pistachio contaminated by salted macadamia. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and unhygienic.

Mediocre ice cream. I didn’t really like the texture as well as how poorly made it was. The flavours were unique such as cookie dough and brownie. It was a good mix and the idea that they let us mix multiple flavours together really enhanced the flavours of the icecream. The service was not very hospitable as there were multiple people crowded around the stall which restricted their ability to entertain us.

Been here once 4 years back during the winter, been here again after the lockdown. The same ice cream at the same location! Conveniently located at the entrance/ exit of the ferry. Service is prompt and friendly. Tried chocolate mint flavour but wasn't satisfied this round...may need to try some other combination...

I recently visited Gelatissimo in Manly with a large group, and while the gelato itself was decent, the service was absolutely terrible. The staff, particularly the girls working there, had a very bad attitude and displayed zero customer service skills. There was no greeting, no smile, and no politeness—just a complete lack of interest in helping us.

When we asked to try a few flavors before making a decision (which is pretty standard at any gelato shop), we were abruptly told we could only have three samples. After that, they completely ignored us, making us feel unwelcome and rushed. Despite this, I still ended up spending $30 because the kids wanted gelato, but the adults in our group were so put off that we left and went to Max Brenner instead. The difference was night and day—Max Brenner offered excellent service and delicious food, making us feel valued as customers.

Gelatissimo really needs to focus on training their staff. Basic customer service skills like greeting customers, smiling, and being polite go a long way. The lack of curiosity or willingness to help completely ruined what could have been a pleasant experience. I won’t be returning, and I’d recommend others to think twice before visiting unless they’re prepared for...

Gelato was absolutely fantastic, but the staff were rude and off with the fairies.

The girl that served us was dead-pan, and when it came time to pay, she entered the amount on the register and busied herself texting on her phone sitting on the counter in front of her. We paid and waited for the approval message, looked up at her [texting and focused on her phone] back at the EFTPOS machine, back up at her [still having not looked up from her phone], back at the EFTPOS machine to be sure the payment went through, thanked her and turned to leave [with her still looking down and tapping at her phone]

She didn't look up once, didn't say anything, didn't even check the register computer after we had tapped out card to see if it had been approved. So we walked away and left her to her very important...
