I give this restaurant 1 star rating for the location and view only. My wife and I found the service and overall experience quite distressing. Firstly, we asked the staff if we could be seated close to the water views but were quite assertively told by the waiter and manager that the sun would soon reach those tables??? Who cares, it's our choice to sit in the shade then sun if we like.... isn't it?? The waiter was slow in taking our order, but you sometimes get that. I ordered a Carlton Dry beer, only to brought a Crown Lager. When the waiter took our main orders (lunchtime special rump steak $21 x2) we were told that we had a choice of mash potato, chips or salad, so I asked for chips and salad. He then rudely pointed out I have a choice of chips OR salad. Most, if not all, restaurants and cheap cafes supply at the very least a basic salad with a steak meal....but apparently not this one. When the meal arrived, it was the loneliest piece of char grilled rump steak sitting on the plate, with a tiny metal basket of chips beside it. I could have easily counted the amount of chips on both hands!! The young Asian lady beside us then called the waiter over to her rump steak and complained that hers was overcooked. The waiter went and got the manager who was very aggressive in his approach to the young woman, telling her "its char grilled!!" and even taking her to show her the char grill in action. Someone needs to tell him that char grilled doesn't mean overcooked. I then heard him say to her "If you want it replaced, I will charge you for it!!" Wow, that's great service!!?? The girl just went quiet and sat back down, obviously very intimidated. I went to speak up, but my wife quite diplomatically told me to let it go, and just write a review to warn others of the poor service, bad attitude of the manager and staff, and poor food. We frequently come to Darling Harbour, but won't ever dine at this restaurant again. VERY disappointed.

I recently dined at I’m Angus Steakhouse during lunch hour, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, I noticed the restaurant was not busy, yet I still had to wait a bit to be seated, as there were only two staff members on the floor. Eventually, I was taken to an outdoor area where most customers were seated. Shortly after, I waited a while longer for my order to be taken. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which the staff recommended, but it was just okay—not particularly memorable. For my main, I chose a medium rare scotch fillet, which I expected to be tender and juicy. Sadly, it was dry and overcooked, far from the quality I hoped for. To add to my frustration, a seabird swooped down and stole a slice of my steak right off my plate. When I alerted the staff, I was told I was responsible for guarding my own food, which felt quite unacceptable. I requested a replacement, but the staff seemed unwilling to accommodate my request. After I moved indoors, I was presented with the same plate of food I had just sent back, falsely labeled as "brand new." Eventually, they did prepare a new steak, but I overheard the chefs joking about the situation, dismissing my concerns as trivial. The replacement steak was burnt and tasted like charcoal, again not resembling the medium rare I had ordered. When I pointed this out, the staff insisted that this was how a medium rare steak should look, making me feel belittled. Overall, the service and food quality at I’m Angus Steakhouse were far below expectations. I left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

I had dinner at this restaurant a few hours ago and the best thing was not the food. I ordered 2 main courses: lobster pasta and 250 gr wagyu sirloin. I came with hopes of eating a good steak, but the truth is that I was very disappointed. The meat tasted absolutely nothing, I don't think they used even a pinch of salt to cook it, to be honest. As for the pasta dish, I was very surprised, It was the best part of the dinner. I accompanied the meal with a cocktail that tasted good, but it had nothing special that made me think that their cocktails were very good and I wanted to finish with a dessert, but it was another big disappointment. Visually it looks good, but the truth is that the only thing worth it was the vanilla ice cream and for that I'd rather go to an ice cream shop. As for the service, everyone was very friendly and I felt very well looked after, especially by Alba, a Spanish-Asian girl who was always looking after my table and did an excellent job. I really think that if you expect to come here to eat and enjoy good meat, it is not the best place, but you can have a nice dinner if you are not very demanding.

We had the most beautiful night here on Saturday. We booked for a family of 5 and was welcomed by wonderful hospitality from start to finish. Gill was our waiter and he interacted both pleasantly and efficiently. He put effort into establishing a connection with all of us, including our children. There is not one element in which I could fault with our experience! Our children had the calamari (so soft and melt in your mouth) and our boys ate spaghetti Bolognese (absolutely delicious). Us adults had a steak and it was of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. Due to Gills watchful eye and attentiveness; drinks were given when needed and with little wait time. I can’t recommend this place higher! We dined at several restaurants whilst in Sydney and this was well and truly the stand out! Kids were also given a little gift pack as well from Antoinette. We are from out of town but as you can see we even learnt names. This is a small detail but worth mentioning as it is evidence of the hospitality we received on a busy Saturday night. Despite a full restaurant, we felt like we were the only diners there with the level of care and hospitality we received. All of us can’t wait to return! The magnificent display of fireworks on the harbour was the perfect ending to a superior night out. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough...
