JB & Sons Narrabeen — Restaurant in Sydney

This was our 2nd and possibly the last time we will visit this restaurant….

The food is what you expect & delivered as promised - great burger joint with large burgers & loaded fries. If only the girl serving actually delivered to the right table & knew what she was serving?? “I’m not sure what they are, you work them out”

Whatever stars they won with their good food, they totally lost in BAD service. 😏

When I placed my order, I handed over the utensil container for our table and asked for cutlery and napkins as it was empty and full of old used napkins. I placed my order for food and drinks at a service counter overflowing with used drink glasses and empty cans.

I appreciate that they were slightly busy when we arrived, but only with outside diners, however they were not so busy enough to stop and chat to each other….. before going to pour my drinks….. and 1 staff member who didn’t look busy, he was clearly ignoring the mess and the line of customers behind me.

After receiving our order, 15-20mins after ordering, (at our dirty table that probably hadn’t been wiped down all night) that we had also cleared ourselves (glasses returned to service counter, empty cans in the bin) I walked back to the service counter and asked for our cutlery and napkins for 3 ppl, to be told, sorry we only have 1 fork. “Sorry We have been really busy today” 5mins later, they served the table next to ours & offered them the same single fork…. I must admit, that eating our loaded fries was challenging and messy.

Don’t even get me started on the fact we were served a beer in a cracked glass 😳 or the smell that wafts over from the public toilets makes it difficult to eat.

Tbh - I’d suggest eating at one of their other branches or a different restaurant to...

Well, darlings, let me tell you something about my little escapade. The location? Absolute genius. You see, the B-Line bus is right next door. I can step out of the local gentleman’s club, snap my lashes back on, and hop straight on that bus like it’s my personal limo to JB and Sons. Convenient isn’t even the word. It’s more like a red-carpet arrival with a timetable.

Now, the real production..besides me, was Hayden and the team. Hayden doesn’t just manage. Hayden directs. This is not customer service. This is theatre. Hayden glides across that floor with the authority of Spielberg and the sparkle of Bob Fosse. And the team? Oh honey, they’re the chorus line. Precision. Charm. Jazz. Each one of them hitting their mark, every cue perfect, every “how’s your night going” delivered like a show-stopping solo. Together they’re not just staff, they’re a cast. And believe me, I gave them a standing ovation after my fries.

And the burgers. My God, the burgers. We’re not talking about your flat, drive-thru, lettuce-sadly-hanging-out-the-side burger. No. These are leading-lady burgers. Thick, juicy, with buns so beautiful they could have their own fragrance line. Every bite was a love scene. Every crunch was an encore. Honestly, I nearly needed an intermission just to recover.

So here’s the tea. If you want convenience that only the B-Line can give you, a manager who deserves an Oscar, a team who could headline on Broadway, and a burger that will ruin all other burgers for you, you head to JB and Sons. You let Hayden and his cast dazzle you. And you order the...

After a kayak over Narrabeen lagoon. We were hungry for some burgers. I quickly decided on The Don. It was cheesy, beefy and well seasoned. With aioli and jalapeño, toasted bun it was something of perfection and up there with one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My girlfriend got ‘the son’ -her words- and the chicken was DELICIOUS, pickles and slaw combination was also perfect, in hindsight i should have made the burger spicy for extra flavour, but never the less it was still a really tasty burger, i would eat again ! We paired this with a portion of shoestring fries which were good, nice and crispy served with a side of bbq and aioli. Service was great food was service quickly and staff were kind. The atmosphere for the place was as can be expected from a 3pm lunch but the outdoor seating would be amazing on a hot day. As well as the inside giving that rustic vibe. Although we were not on time for the happy hour as you can see to the menu attached the prices on the food and drink look amazing. We will definitely be back for a happy hour drink and more food...
