âď¸ 1 Star Extremely disappointing experience â repeatedly! My NDIS client and I have had multiple negative experiences at Jim's Malaysia in Westfield Miranda over the past few months, but today was the last straw.
First incident: A couple of months ago, my client clearly ordered a dish with rice. The woman serving brought out noodles instead and then denied any mistake, insisting noodles were ordered. I had personally heard my client ask for rice. When this was pointed out, we were told it could be changed only if we paid an extra $2. My client paid just to avoid confrontation â unacceptable.
Second incident:Â On another visit, my client placed her order and waited patiently for a table to become available. The same staff member rudely instructed her to sit at a table already occupied by another customer. Again, to avoid embarrassment, my client complied silently.
Todayâs experience was the most upsetting. My client ordered takeaway as we were limited for time. After running a few errands, we returned, only to find her meal hadnât even been prepared. She waited quietly and sat down at the first available table. She had barely been seated for two minutes when the same woman told her to get up, claiming another couple wanted the table. Despite how visibly tired and vulnerable my client was, they showed zero empathy. No apology for the delay, no basic courtesy, just blatant disregard. This ongoing treatment has been rude, dismissive, and in my opinion, discriminatory toward someone with a disability. There is no excuse for this behaviour â especially from staff working in a public space where inclusivity and respect should be a minimum standard. My client will not be returning to this venue, and I hope management takes a serious look at how their staff interact with vulnerable customers. Absolutely...
Read moreI ordered chicken with rice and a Sprite as my drink. When I politely asked one of the staff members for a straw, I was told that there were none available. However, I could clearly see multiple straws behind the cashier. As I needed one for my child, I took a small kid's straw instead. Unfortunately, my daughter accidentally spilled the drink. I approached the same staff member to ask for some tissue to clean up the mess. She handed me only one small piece, which was clearly insufficient. As I was trying to clean the spill myself, the staff member came over and began blaming me, suggesting that the spill occurred because I used a straw â which was completely untrue and unfair. I calmly explained that the spill was an accident caused by my young child, and yet the staff member continued to behave in a negative and unprofessional manner, even going so far as to watch and stare at me from the counter afterward. This made me feel uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. This experience was very disappointing and not what I would expect from a place that serves families...
Read moreMalaysian food what a high expectation I had walking up to the counter, a quick read of the menu and like most of customers you start with the staples on the menu first, this gives you ability to judge the rest of the menu
I started with the char teow kway, the fabulous noodle dish. Ordered a takeaway and based off the presentation of the shop, I had a high expectation.
But this is where the water got deep very quickly, the noodles where ok, the Chinese sausage terrible, so hard it was like chewing plastic, I do love shrimp paste, but there needs to be other ingredients to balance the flavour
I tried to love Jimâs . But Jim didnât turn up
The quaint appearance of a hawker stall is far too commercial, it felt cold no life no personality, the marketing department went out of bounds and destroyed what could have been a great concept
The staff were nice and friendly, which was the one endearing factor
