Kogarah Tavern — Restaurant in Sydney

I had a really lovely experience here until I met a stereotype guy (michael) who claims to be a man not a boy. He wanted us not to give the drink anymore and only reason was we said we wanted cocktail however he refused saying he don’t know how to make it and also charged fouble for the drink. He acts like he claims the whole world which is clear on his attitude. Totally arrogant mann who i feel is good for no customer service. Anyways god bless him and give him some peace of mind so that he know how to treat customer specially who are not drunk. Would suggest always go for another option to drinkk as he is a terrible guy with no empathy or customer service role. Poor nicholas feel bad for him i solely managing service. New upstairs tavern has opened.

Pros: the hot chips are perfect. Like you'd get from somewhere hatted. Great range of craft beers, bent spoke, mountain culture, hope, Akasha, many more. food is tasty and high quality light and airy, one whole wall is floor to ceiling windows

Cons: About $3 more expensive per dish than the other pub bistros in Kogarah. Not huge, but if you're price sensitive

Worth knowing: the chairs and tables are all high in the bistro, if you can't get onto a tall stool you might struggle "onion" on the burgers is Spanish onion, I like it, but ask them to remove it if you don't like. currently have a happy hour 5-7 weekdays with $5 cans of 4 pines, opening special so not sure how long it will last.

I had such a great experience! Shoutout to the man with the black beard, I think his name is Michael. From the moment I walked in to the gaming room he was incredibly attentive. Always checking in with a smile, making sure everyone had what they needed without ever being intrusive. You could tell both him and the other guy genuinely cared about all the customers and took pride in their work. They had a really charismatic personality too - friendly, welcoming, and able to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. It made the whole atmosphere feel more relaxed and enjoyable. It’s rare to come across staff who are both professional and personable like that.

Definitely made my visit so much better. Give that man a raise he’s a real asset to the pub! Can’t...
