Koi Bento — Restaurant in Sydney

I think there is new management as the menu completely changed overnight. This has been our favourite family eating place since our daughter was born 10 years ago. As Fujiyama, then Koi Bento it was consistently fresh, delicious and friendly. We've eaten at least weekly in that time and never had a bad experience. Last night my husband gathered a substantial take away order and arrived home with a dubious look on his face. The sashimi and sushi was clearly not of the same quality (dull and streaky), the grilled salmon sushi was pitiful, with blackened rice (burnt by the blow torch and smelling like tar), and soggy raw onion as a 'garnish'. The kids were bewildered as to why anyone would garnish plain boiled rice with unspecified flavoured herbs and spices. Our favourite dish, Stir-fried rice noodles has been replaced with wheat noodles with goop sauce (sad I couldn't eat them but that was the consensus).

Literally just picked up takeaway California Roll and drove away as on the way somewhere and running late - Called to advise unfortunately the roll had passed its best and tasted so fishy and off had to spit out the first bite! I called adto say take the rest off the shelf or check before they poison someone. And they aggressively said they were freshly made. We come here regularly so disappointed they were not willing to even check their stock and said to come back and return the item. I was already on my way somewhere on Anzac bridge by the time so coming back to Leichhardt to return a $7 sushi roll wasn’t happening. Not interested in a refund just to let them know so they don’t poison people. Public health will be informed. As they were so rude about being informed of their food being passed their best. Amazing Gem!!! Love it!!! Sorry. Don't listen to some stupid reveiws. They've got rocks in their head if they think that. I've been coming here for years. I used to come here quite a while, but nowadays, a couple of times a week. I can tell you that it much much better than previous menu. I'm sure that the food quality has totally changed it as well. The dishes are truly authentic and delicious. Very impressed with their level of presentation and amazing quality tasting sashimi. Taste just burst in your mouth!! Service is top notch. New staffs are always polite and friendly with big smile (I remembered that the previous staffs never had a smiled on their face). You guys are awesome!!! Want to get back here again and...
