This restaurant can only be described as divine. Having an allergy, finding accomodating restaurants can be difficult. Not here! After a quick chat with the chef, we were sold on the tasting plates. This was a fantastic choice. The flavours were bold, uncompromising, and, fresh! When we thought we were done, more arrived!
The atmosphere was relaxed and upmarket - at no point did you feel as if you were in a catholic club.
The staff were attentive and friendly. You certainly never felt as if you were rushed. Thursday seemed to be the perfect night for dinner as things were not busy. I imagine busy nights (Friday/Saturday) would alter the attentiveness.
Whilst each plate is highly recommended due to the flavour combinations, I would fully suggest a round of King Crab Tacos. They were like parcels of flavour dynamite exuding the art, patience and care that went into making them. Nothing overpowered the delicate crab flavours.
Take a couple of hours and be transported on a journey as your taste buds fire dance over the menagerie of flavours you will experience.
By far, the best restaurant outside of Sydney city, on par with...
Read moreWe were fortunate enough to have a child free night in the school holiday's (thanks Mum!) and decided to go out for a lovely 8 course meal at Kyubi. We were so impressed with the atmosphere, service and mostly importantly food! The service was great; very attentive and knowledgable on the food and drinks menu. I am pausing my alcohol consumption and the Mocktail recommendations were bang on - the Blushing Virgin and a ginger and chilli mockup were outstanding; the best I have ever had! The food came up timely and were deliciously spicy and flavoursome. Our favourites were the Okra and Eggplant plus the Squid. The Goat curry was delicious but it would have been nicer if a little spicer. Food was fresh, tasty and extremely well priced. My husband and I had the Culinary Adventure Series Chapter 8 (which was like 7-8 dishes) plus a few beers and mocktails and the total bill was $180 - which is outstanding value for the lux and moody atmosphere, the level of service and quality of food and drinks. We will definitely be coming back and will recommend to friends and family. The best restaurant we have been to in the Campbelltown and Narellan...
Read moreThird time to Kyubi, and gave a glowing review previously, however, this has changed since visiting recently. I write reviews in the hope that a business I really enjoyed once upon a time can learn from a most dissapointed customers: Sashimi kingfish and tuna was nicely presented and tasted fresh. Would've been nice to add some real wasabi. Was a little blande with the condiments. Cooked Oysters were terrible. Overly salty, poor presentation and just not done well at all. Total miss. Selection of Local Seafood was also terrible and very bland. It tasted like the seafood was boiled in water and served in salty water. What a waste of seafood... and to make matters worse, to give the dish some volume, more than half of it was filled with dough dumpling clumps. The Wagyu was way over cooked and dry Brocolli with crab meat was very odd. Poorly presented and the combination did not work. Once upon a time, your special fired rice was the best we ever had. This one was a salt fest with no other taste. Wine was pretty good.
Very dissapointed, and won't be returning again unless I hear praises from others...
