Attended Otis Bar and Grill on Friday evening for pre show dinner and drinks and unfortunately very disappointing. Ordered a cocktail jug sat down and waited and waited only to be told they don't have passionfruit, so we ordered a second jug off the menu, waited and waited, popped up to the bar twice and still had not been made. After 50 minutes we get the jug after I had to go and collect myself and it was literally filled with ice and tasted like flat watered down lemon squash. I had to go and get empty glasses to which I filled 4 of them at the table with ice cubes from the jug and had to use a table spoon to pour out the remainder of the beverage to avoid getting more ice and we got 2 drinks which tasted like nothing. Now for the food I ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon as per the menu on the website with pictures of 5 scallops wrapped in bacon on a rectangle dish like a fillet mignon, what I got was 3 oyster shells with a scallop as big as $2 coin with a rock had chard bacon bit the size of a slivered almond. Main I ordered beer battered barramundi, salad and chips and received 3 fish cocktails, a salad with no dressing ( what chef in the world does not dress a salad - are you for real) under cooked blonde french fries with no seasoning, I attempt to use the salt on the table and no surprise it was empty. Under staffed and un qualified bar and restaurant staff. Pick up your act this is disgraceful for what used to be a...

Ordered bread for the table - yet there were no side plates, so we had to ask for those.
Ordered wine for the table - they came out with two glasses. Told it was two bottles not two glasses. They came back with the wine bottles - yet there were no wine glasses on the table, so we had to ask for those as well. Not once were glasses refilled by wait staff.
Ordered the meals - they came out at different times (some 20 minutes after others). They didn't know who ordered what and yelling over a group of people to establish where the meals went is unprofessional and uncouth.
They came out with extra sides we didn't order. Had to tell them, in which they said keep the sides and we will remove them off the bill. They didn't. Had to have several conversations about that at the end of the dinner.
No clearing of plates. Had to ask for a dessert menu and was greeted with 'Oh you want dessert?'
Was constantly called 'guys' by the waitress - unprofessional. They fail to mention the sides are so large they would suit 2-3 people. The food was unremarkable.
Called the Rydges the next day to discuss the entire experience with the manager of the restaurant. Of course, they were 'busy' and have not returned my call.

Read moreMr. and I had a lovely dinner sharing the smoked hommus followed by both of us having Pasta Capunti. I asked for the chef to omit the pancetta from mine which was no problem. We finished with desserts of a mango mousse and Tiramisu. Our meals were fabulous. Only outshone by the fabulous wait staff consisting Gabriel who was only working his 2nd shift and doing a great job under the guidance of Madeleine. Great job both of you. Very handy restaurant within Rydges Hotel.
Review for our breakfast the following day. Typical fare for a buffet breakfast but cheap. Eggs were cold. Tables were all wet and dirty with drink stains from the private function in the area the night before. That staff and the morning staff had not bothered. The lady on the next table was cleaning her table herself. This seems to be a common thread at Rydges eateries and also their hotel rooms as our bathroom counter and the bench in the room were both stained from drinking glasses. We also had lunch a couple of days earlier at Rydges Zebu Port Macquarie and our table was dirty with old stains. Unfortunately too hard...
