We went to Lilong in Hurstville and the taste of the food is amazing. We like our food a bit spicy and the selection there is great. We had: Sticky Rice Dumplings dipped in a Soy / Black Vinegar sauce with a bit of extra Chili which taste great. Then Steamed Pork Buns (same sauce) again great taste. Pork and Chive dumplings (same sauce) goes really well. Chili Beef in hot wok is an all time classic and very tasty. The Shanghai Turnip Croissant was not my favorite taste but my company liked those. The pan fried Pork buns are very nice but you have to be careful as they are piping hot. Better let those cool down first and bite carefully as they are filled with sauce which goes everywhere when you are not careful ;-). The spicy sliced pork belly with mushrooms is just divine and so yummy you want to order a second portion straight away. At last we had the Ma Po Tofu and I usually don't like Tofu but this one is fantastic nicely spiced and mixed with pork mince. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly as they can just move chairs around if required. Better make a booking on the weekend in the evening as it can get pretty full there. This food is more for people who love a more authentic taste, not the Europeans version of Chinese food which usually is less spicy and includes more sugar. We ordered the above listed items for 3 people and it was just the right amount for everyone to be full (any more and we would have needed...

I’ve been a regular here for a few years for a quick feed, and everytime I’m here the food is always good and service is provided at the bare with my requests.

I’m not one to usually post a review on a restaurant, especially one for a casual meal, but I felt the need to share this one. I came in with a friend for lunch, and while the food was decent, the service completely ruined the experience. We were served by a very young staff member, looked like they could’ve still been in high school? They seemed totally disinterested, didn’t greet us properly, and barely spoke the whole time. It felt like we were bothering them just by being there.

They brought the wrong drinks and forgot part of our order, and when we asked about it, they gave us attitude rather than an apology. It was awkward and unprofessional. I understand businesses hire young people, but proper training is essential especially in hospitality.

I wish to come back soon, however I hope I won’t be met with the same...

I’ve been to Lilong a couple of times before and had no issues, but today was a completely different experience. We visited for my husband’s birthday, expecting a special meal, but things quickly went downhill. One of the dishes we ordered, the Xiaolongbao, tasted off. I informed the staff, and the waiter, who was friendly at first, took the dish away and said they would taste it. Everything seemed fine at that point. However, a different staff member came over later and claimed that the Xiaolongbao tasted normal and that the issue was with us not being used to the dish's taste. To make matters worse, he actually told us not to order the dish again. The entire situation left a bad taste in our mouths, and the dismissive attitude towards our legitimate concern was completely unacceptable. It's frustrating when a place you've enjoyed in the past shows such poor customer service. We won’t be returning, and we definitely won’t be recommending Lilong to others after...

I recently visited this restaurant in Hurstville, and while the food had potential, there were a few areas that could be improved. We ordered the spicy fried rice, but it wasn’t spicy at all, which was a bit disappointing. We also tried the pork xiao long bao, and when I bit into one, a pink liquid came out. Having been to many Chinese restaurants, this was my first time encountering this. I wasn’t sure if it was fully cooked, as the meat and soup inside were also pink. When I asked a staff member, they assured me it was cooked, but it still left me uncertain. The atmosphere was nice, but a little more friendliness from the staff—like a simple smile—would have made the experience more welcoming. Hurstville has many dining options, and I believe there are better places for quality food. Overall very disappointing never coming back

It seems everyone in my family had been to Lilong but me. So l finally went there. A great restaurant tucked away on the roof of Westfield Hurstville. I can only be guided by the smiles and by the looks of the other diners they were really enjoying their food. My daughter and l shared the pork dumplings for entree (which arrived after our main course arrived...but this is "normal") which were delicious. The daughter had a prawn noodle dish that was very good and l had the traditional kung pao chicken. Well the kung pao was amazing...easily the best l have had in the past 5 years. Service was fantastic and the meal was a very reasonable price. Overall you would literally doing yourself a favour going there. Very Recommended.
