So first up the food is excellent. We both ordered a Poke bowl each and some dumplings to share. Purely based on the food I would give it 5 stars. Really yummy.

However the service was terrible. I understand places get busy sometimes and service will be slower, but that didn't excuse our experience. First of all the people in front of us had their order lost and it took ages to clear that up before our order was taken. The entire time we gave our order we had no eye contact. Instead the manager taking the order was conducting 3 other conversations at the same time with his staff. We took our seat and the Poke bowls arrived quickly. They were missing a couple ingredients but still yummy. Then we waited and waited for the dumplings. We asked one staff member to check and she said she would. She didn't. We asked another staff member. He said he wasn't sure. That started a conversation with the couple next to us who had been waiting a long time. The couple checked and it turned out they had lost their order. The couple told us that was the 3rd time they had been there with service issues. So that made me check on our order. I was told the dumplings would be 1 minute. Then 1 minute later the manager asked me what we ordered. 5 minutes later they arrived freshly cooked delivered by the manager He told me that the dumplings were not on our order and he was not going to charge us for them. Frankly I told him I didn't care and if he had bothered to pay attention to us when ordering they wouldn't have been missed. And we know we ordered them because he queried us on the type of dumpling to confirm. He said it was difficult because he had to manage the business at the same time. Well perhaps hire some good service staff and supervise them.

I'm in two minds about going back. The quality of the food was excellent, but I couldn't sit through service...

Absolutely appalling experience. Used to work here for 5 years, now the quality has gone down the drain with a ridiculous increase in prices. I ordered the lentil dumplings and, to my surprise, the only thing I could taste was clumps of dough. I opened up the wrapper to find that there was in fact barely 5 lentils in sight - it is like they strategically folded the dumpling in this way to be stingy with the filling. It was also very over steamed, causing the structural integrity of the dumplings to fall apart after merely scooping it up from the bowl. I literally had to throw it in the bin after eating just a couple because it was so disgusting. Back in the day, I could tell it was lentil without even looking at it. Now, not so much. And, to my dismay, when I complained about this to the staff, the guy in blue dismissed my experience entirely and did not care to be receptive to my concerns at all - instead, he gave me attitude and avoided eye contact so as to make me go away. He did not offer any reassurance or solution at all. He just rudely said “not sure” and said the recipe had not changed, but he could not fool me. This is not how you treat your customers who pay a criminal price for your (mediocre) food. So disappointing (and embarrassing) that an establishment that that had so much potential back in the day has let itself go like this. If you want good dumplings, there are plenty more places like Falcha that will smash your expectations out of the park for far less money - and much better customer service. Momo Bar is nothing like what...

Little place that serves up poke bowl and dropped in as we craved for a poke bowl this afternoon. We went through the menu and ordered 1 large tiki bowl with salmon and 1 large serving of dumplings. The menu stated that large serving of dumplings has 10 dumplings in total. We placed our order with the cashier and informed her of our choice: mixed dumplings (mixture of chicken and pork dumplings), and waited for our order to come.

Upon receiving our food, we were surprised to see only 8 dumplings in our bowl so my partner asked the staff. One of the waiters informed her that due to the larger sized pork dumplings, they only gave us a total of 8 dumplings. We were shocked because they stated clearly in their menu that large serving of dumplings has a total of 10 dumplings (mixed 50/50) furthermore our tax invoice showed large serving as 5+5 dumplings. The cashier also did not inform us of the lesser dumplings when we repeated our order. Had we known that there will be lesser dumplings due to difference in size, we would not order the large servings of mix dumplings. This is CLEARLY a misrepresentation (false advertising) of your food quantity servings that deceived us to purchase the food...

Ohhh Momo you are a life saver. I have been a fan of this place since its beginnings. The vegetarian options for dumplings are excellent and the food was always amazing. There was a period a while ago where the quality wasn’t as good and I could sense that something wasn’t the same. Either the broth wasn’t as rich as before or the quality of the dumplings was going down, they were almost too thin, they would break before you could reach your mouth :/ I tried them again last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. Although it’s not as it used to be, the broth was nice enough and the dumplings came back to its original consistency. Overall a good option if you are looking for something nourishing and earthy. I personally recommend the mushroom, vegetable and lentil dumplings. The last ones are my favourite and the all timer winner. The poke bowls are very well put together but I recommend to make your own. Service is fast and friendly although at the shop in Manly the music can be a bit loud. A great option for a cold night confort food though :)
