Brighton Le Sands RSL Club — Restaurant in Sydney

This evening was marked by an unpleasant experience. Our group of ten was gathered to celebrate a birthday. The mother of the birthday girl had prepared a homemade cake. However, the female receptionist confiscated the cake, mistakenly believing we had brought outside food. She did not inquire or show any interest in clarifying the contents of the baking dish that she hastily took away. Understandably, the birthday girl was distressed. This incident significantly dampened the celebratory atmosphere. The birthday girl confronted the receptionist, but she was met with the same arrogance. The receptionist was unwilling to listen or comprehend that the dish contained only a homemade birthday cake. Subsequently, Tom, the manager, was summoned. He did return the cake to us, although the female employee was displeased with his decision. Upon leaving the establishment, I conveyed my disappointment to the female employee regarding her handling of the situation. I attempted to explain that the matter could have been approached differently. Unfortunately, she remained unapologetic, rude, and exceedingly confrontational. I proceeded to the bar to request a discussion with the manager. Tom came to the entrance, and we both endeavored to reason with the female employee. Despite Tom's presence, she continued to exhibit the same unpleasant demeanor. Tom attempted to apologise on her behalf. I exited the club feeling disgusted and disappointed, informing her that this is my local RSL and that I would be contemplating my future visits. As I departed, the female employee muttered something under her breath. There was no apology or any effort to resolve the situation. This was a terrible...

I understand not too many people will relate to what I experienced in this club, nor could I comment on any food or drinks as I have no idea that why I don’t have access to my local club as I never submitted any self exclusion form. On 14/09/2024 around 9pm, I was told by the gentleman at the door that I was banned from the venue. He suggested that I call the last RSL club I visited without showing me the evidence that I am on any self exclusion list in this club. Then I called on 17/09/2024 and only found out that I am NOT on their list, and I was told that I was banned by TAB which I don’t even have an account with. I called the club again and was told that if I go there again, I need to ask for supervisor on duty. She emphasised that she can’t promise that the supervisor can solve the problem. All the staff members in this venue I interacted with so far have pointed me to wrong directions and been showing their inefficiency and incapability. The only thing they did was to shove me out of the door and waste my time providing incorrect information. I understand the club won’t care but I hope one day they will fix this stupid issue and come up with something instead of pushing out a hungry customer who simply want some food who doesn’t even gamble or drink let alone being on a self...

Located at 351 Bay Street, Brighton-Le-Sands, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 A great club where there’s so much going on! It’s very nicely designed, creating a relaxing and welcoming vibe when you come in the front door. On Mondays, there’s a Meat Raffle and also Trivia for Members. On Tuesdays, there is Poker and Members Bonus Points Draw. On Wednesdays, there’s Bingo at 10.30am, Raffles and Member Badge Draws. On Thursdays there’s another Trivia Night from 7.00pm. Fridays is a Big Day! There’s Bingo at 10.30am, Raffle at 1.00pm (tickets on sale 12.00pm) , Member Badge Draws and DJ Bingo from 7.00pm. On Sundays there’s Raffles with tickets selling from 2.00pm and Member Badge Draws. The Bistro (Mike’s Grill) has a great selection of meals to choose from. There’s also Specials from Monday to Thursday. There’s great Live Entertainment shows also, particularly on the weekends. It’s a wheelchair 🦼 accessible club which is good for our group which includes people with mobility. The food was delicious. I had Garlic Prawns Linguine. I liked it but was very filling. Couldn’t finish. The rest of my group liked their meals also. Parking 🅿️ is not the best, especially if you’re trying to unload a person in a wheelchair 🧑‍🦼.
