Still catching up with our Sydney trip - Blue Mountains last weekend: breakfast at Mountain Ama Cafe @yarlongawang in Katoomba. Great place for Tibetan food! I definitely loved to have dumplings (momos) and noodle soup on a cold morning 😍😍. . The momos were excellent. Generous filling, and the skin wasn't too thick. The dipping sauce was tasty! . Than-thuk vegetable noodle soup: delicious broth and nicely done hand made noodles. . Beef momo dumpling soup: the broth is very similar to the than-thuk noodle soup. Very tasty!

Walked in during a storm and was pleasantly surprised by the warm and cosy environment. Food is very comforting, and really delicious! They have a large crepe selection, but I ordered the momo with the spicy sauce and was blown away by the REAL spiciness of the sauce (not the weak and phony sort, you've been warned) Came back on a different day and got the tibetan momo soup which was hearty, delicious, and very warming on a cold day. Will definitely come again (and again!) when I visit the Blue Mountains.

Said closed before advertised time, and very rudely. EDIT: That's a very nice narrative that you've constructed, but please be factual when replying to reviews, as this makes you look even more scummy. My friend is averse to confrontations, and therefore was trying to de-escalate the situation. In reality, your front of house staff was extremely rude in how she came off telling us the kitchen was closed, which my friend totally agreed with so you're absolutely lying, and then, low and behold, she served a nice older couple some bowls of soup after your staff had already said you were closed. Very interesting logic you have there. So when does the kitchen actually close? Is it before, or after you fobbed us off, and then decided to serve other customers whom you seem to have a preference for? Katoomba is already incredibly hostile with its brand of "hospitality" and your cafe is just another cherry on the poopoo cake. Maybe train your staff not to be so rude next time, and to show mutual respect to the humans who decide to patronise your sub-par establishment, and you won't have to write so many lies in your Google review replies. Also, more training for making Coffee wouldn't go amiss, as it tasted like over-boiled mud. EDIT 2: Next time think about opening with the apology, after clearly exhibiting preferences between customers, and none of this probably would have even happened. It's called mutual respect. I'm aware that they are regular customers, as I overheard them speaking to your front of house, but you should consider how it comes off to new customers entering your shop, and getting a deadpan "we're closed" from your staff, and then us seeing others getting served, as if we have the plague because we're from the city or something. I'm sure you can appreciate how that could be perceived as rude, if you just...

“A Little Slice of Mountain Magic!” Nestled in the misty embrace of the Blue Mountains, Mountain-Ama Cafe is a delightful oasis where caffeine dreams and comfort-food fantasies come true.

The coffee? Oh, it’s the kind that whispers, “You can climb that mountain—or at least tackle your inbox.” Their house blend should come with a warning: dangerously addictive. The food? Think hearty, wholesome, and bursting with flavor—whether it’s their indulgent pancakes or the gourmet pies that feel like a warm hug on a plate. Their smashed avo toast practically has its own fan club.

The decor? Picture quirky mountain vibes meets cozy cottagecore, with a sprinkle of “I might just move in here” charm. It’s the kind of place where time slows, conversation flows, and the staff feels like old friends you haven’t met yet.

In short, Mountain-Ama Cafe doesn’t just serve up meals; it dishes out moments you’ll want to savor. The food is fresh, soul-warming, and the perfect accompaniment to those crisp Katoomba vibes. Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or just a curious passerby, this cafe is a must-stop. Prepare to leave with a full belly, a happy heart, and possibly a craving to return.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and an extra shot of espresso for...

I have been visiting MOUNTAIN AMA CAFE for few months now, every time I am in Blue Mountains I had to go to AMA CAFE and try something new. Mountain Ama Cafe is the best place to enjoy the authentic Tibetan food and experience tasting various authentic dishes of Tibet.

The environment here is cozy, neat and clean. I have fallen in love with this coziness and greatness of ambience. Amazing atmosphere!!!

The Staffs are so friendly, cooperative and well mannered. Mr. Lobsang is the owner of MOUNTAIN AMA CAFE and he is very polite, courteous and very soft spoken . If you are looking for authentic Tibetan food then this is the perfect place for your family and friends to visit.

I highly recommend that their hand made steam Tibetan momos and hand made momo soup with their special red chilli sauce,, wow,, wow wow,,,,, superb taste and also Tibetan noodle soup is another thing you can try,, again awesome taste !! Amazing,, amazing,,, amazing... The price is also very reasonable with high quality food.

A must-go restaurant if you are in Katoomba or blue mountains, everything they cook is so pure and...
