Mrs Underwood — Restaurant in Sydney

Looking for the 6 star option for the team at Mrs Underwood. I’m a local and been going for years. The barista is always very happy to see you (and slightly cheeky), making very good constant coffees. I’ve tried them all around the area, and this is my everyday go to coffee. Staff have always been super pleasant and as you’d expect in a coffee shop some staff have moved on, but as new staff arrive they have the same pleasant attitude towards all customers. Blows my mind some people have written 1 star reviews. Guess you cannot win them all or maybe they just woke up on the wrong side that day. Very disappointing. I love giving great reviews to local places. But Mrs Underwood at Stanmore has let the inner west down. After buying four coffees and cake in short succession on a Saturday morning. Literally just having finished our second coffee and just having a chat and a bit of reading of the paper a staff member came and asked us to leave as they needed to ‘turn over the table’. There was no queue. Tables outside and inside. 'Nice' dining experience.... Never experienced this in our inner west. Won’t be back. Maybe should buy one coffee...

I can’t rave enough about the staff and service here, so helpful and friendly and downright kind. I’d been stalking on insta for a while and was excited to finally make it there, the shop is presented really nicely and there’s a lovely buzzing environment. I’m giving it 5 stars as my friend was over the moon with what she ordered and food did look amazing. Sadly there’s very little available for me to eat (vegetarian but can’t eat eggs) so I didn’t have many options. Going to give it another shot though, I really want to...
