We stayed at O'Malleys pub rooms for 3 nights. They are exactly that a pub room. No special features, but they have a tv, mini fridge, kettle and across the hall is your own private ensuite. You need to go into the pub first to get your keys. The rooms are next door. Rooms on the second floor would be quieter, as they are above the pub which has a band playing until 3am. There are 41 steps to the 2nd floor, you need to carry your suitcase up. There is no air conditioning just a fan. Breakfast is simple but sufficed, cereal, toast, bagels and tea or coffee. The best part is the location and the price. It's right near Kings Cross station( 2 stops from Sydney CBD) ,supermarkets and around the corner from central Kings Cross. All in all great for the price and the beds were comfy. Plus had an awesome view from the bed, people watching, and a yummy pizza place in...
ย ย ย Read moreThe place is a backpackers bar. Place is an absolute farce, the owner will clear up almost full pints if there are empty glasses on the table and tell you they were empty. Blatantly knowing that people are in a foreign country and takes full advantage of the fact that they wont cause a fuss becasue of that just to make a few extra dollars. They also put the clock 5 mins ahead when its "cheap drinks night" saying that its the law that they have to.
I looked it up on several sites, this is completely untrue and just another attempt to make more money of people who dont know better.
Bar itself is a really cool vibe and good live music, just be very careful about drinks because they'll lie just to make a few extra dollars, pre drink before you come here and only get a beer or 2 unless its tuesday, even then be careful.
Come on...
ย ย ย Read moreAlways stay in this place when i come to Sydney. This building was built more than 100 years ago, room with high ceiling and old furnitures but all well maintained. Clean budget room, all rooms have private bathroom, good price comparing all hostels nearby, every room seperated with thick wall but it could be noisy sometimes from the pub downstair and loud talking of people on the street. Nothing fancy but has kettle, refridge, hair dryer, tv, strong shower, very good location in Sydney's famous surburb "king cross" known as red light district, only 15-20min walking to CBD and train station within 100 meters away. No elevator, no wifi, no reception at all times but easy check-in at the pub downstair, 2-3 times a week for cleaning service.||If u look for a budget stay then i would recommend to stay here than...
