Ole Burgers Matraville — Restaurant in Sydney

Really surprised at the plethora of positive reviews for this place. My experience was anything but. Firstly, in case anyone else is wondering, this place has NOTHING to do with (imo) the far superior Portuguese chicken place by the same name in Kensington (which now might be closed).

Anyway, to the review, I had a hot ole without cheese (as I usually do, and which should be called a hot jacko at a real OLE)... not only did the order take a really long time to come out and there was only one other customer there, but I was really disappointed with it... the chicken slices are too thin, yes even for this style of burger, which resulted in seriously overcooked chicken that was very dry and rubbery. There was far too much mayo and not enough chilli, it completely messed with the flavour, making it like a chicken schnitty sanga (dry one) with just mayo. For me, this was a waste of money and even the bigger chains do better.

Very disappointed with this place. We ordered a couple of burgers a while ago and before us seemed to be a massive order that just was not ending. Instead of trying to slot us in somewhere (we were the only other customers) they kept us waiting for over half an hour AND when we got home my husband didn't even have the meat patty in his burger. Just to add insult to the flame. I grimace every time we walk past the place now and I still cannot forget about this awful experience we haven't...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ole Burgers, a fantastic Portuguese chicken shop, and I can't recommend it enough! The food is absolutely amazing, with perfectly seasoned chicken that’s juicy and full of flavour. The variety on the menu is impressive, and every dish I've tried has been delicious.
