Costi Seafoods — Local services in Sydney

I brought cooked take away from there today for the first time because a friend who is a regular raves about it. The seafood salad was delicious and had plenty of prawns in it and was a generous portion. The chips were cooked to perfection but I was disappointed they didn't ask if I wanted salt. I realise this is my responsibility but I would expect them to ask. The downfall was the grilled calamari which was not fresh and was overcooked, greasy, tasteless and rubbery. The pineapple fritters were very greasy and I only ate two bites.

The lady who served us did not crack a smile even once and when we were trying to get her attention to add a salad to our order, she completely ignored us. It was a friendly gentleman who noticed we were trying to get her attention and he served us immediately.

The lady told us that grilled food takes 15 minutes and we were happy to wait but it took 25 minutes all up. An extra 10 minutes makes all the difference when you are relying on catching the next bus.

Stopped by Southpoint Hillsdale on a bitterly cold day (today) and came across Costi. Fish n chips of the day: Mullet $10, Snapper $15, Dory $11, Whiting $11. We got 2 serves of mullet n chips.

Chips were the absolute best in the universe. And each serve came with 2 fillets of fish in very light batter. Fish was cooked perfectly, and the oil was fresh.

Hot damn!!!

I ordered a large chips for my kids. After what seemed like a long wait, I was given a box that was one 3rd chips, 2 3rds potato gems.

I told the lady that it wasn’t what I ordered. She said that’s what a large chips from that shop is. I was surprised, so I asked if she could make me box of only chips, and I will pay extra for it.
