We went to the Ori for dinner with a bigger group one night and my partner found a dead cockroach in his salad. When informing the wait staff, they apologised and took his plate away without offering him a replacement. Seeing as this happened towards the end of the meal, we may have overlooked this error on their part, but the real slap in the face came when we walked up to the counter to settle our bill. The restaurant manager herself handed it to us and offered us a laughable 5 PERCENT OFF for the inconvenience. My partner and I were so stunned that we just paid and left â looking back now, we wish we had handled the situation differently. We have both worked in hospitality before and we get it, accidents happen â but the sheer lack of respect and customer service still baffles me to this day, especially from a place that offers pricier pub food like the Ori. I can only strongly discourage anyone from dining here; your money is best...
Read moreThe Chicken schnitzel I had was delicious, good portion and quality. I have an issue with the surcharge for $3.50 for a tiny sauce. The pepper sauce is nice, just not $3.50 nice. The surcharge wasnât listed on the menu either, at the time I dined. $26.50 with a sauce is fair pricing. $30 for a Schnitzel with sauce is not fair pricing.
I would also like to mention, the blonde waitress who was rather rude. The waitress in question at one point stated I did not have to get angry???
I was merely stating the surcharge for sauce wasnât on the menu, I had said this in a matter of fact tone, without attitude or âgetting angryâ as the waitress had stated. Thanks to the head chef who understood my reasoning, there are people at the Ori cafe who know how to handle punters, and this man is one of them.
I wonât return, as I can get better food at a competitive pricing point. Also, whoever decided a $2 surcharge for a takeaway container, needs...
Read moreReserved a table with heavy emphasis on use of wheelchair. At no time were details given as to access nor any signage from car park. My carer and myself felt we were a nuisance when confronted with steep stairs, locked accessible doors and unhelpful stares from staff while trying to negotiate the area into the restaurant. Any assistance was left to other patrons. Initially seated near open fire which was so appreciated given we were damp and very cold we were then moved to a table next to a constantly opening front door which only increased our discomfort. Food was just adequate (dry gristly ribs, miniscule pot of soup and smoked salmon on a mashed potato rosti(?)covered by salad leaves and shredded carrot and no dressing). Dessert was lack lustre and overcharged. Definitely not worth over $200. Table staff were pleasant and attentive serving our food in a...
