My recent dining experience at Papa Curry left an indelible impression on my taste buds and heart. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
Papa Curry boasts an extensive menu that showcases the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine, and each dish I sampled was an absolute masterpiece. The flavors were vibrant, authentic, and expertly balanced, taking my palate on an exquisite journey through India's culinary heritage.
To start, the appetizers were a revelation. The crispy samosas, filled with a delectable blend of spiced potatoes and peas, were perfectly fried to golden perfection. The tangy tamarind chutney accompanying them added a delightful contrast of flavors. Equally impressive were the melt-in-your-mouth kebabs, prepared with the finest spices and marinated to perfection.
Moving on to the main course, the array of curries and biryanis were nothing short of divine. The butter chicken, a signature dish at Papa Curry, was a symphony of creamy tomato-based sauce and tender, succulent chicken. The fragrant biryanis, bursting with aromatic spices and tender meats, were a true celebration of flavors.
To complement the meal, the attentive staff recommended a selection of fine wines and traditional Indian beverages. Their knowledge and enthusiasm further enhanced the dining experience, and I appreciated their genuine passion for the cuisine they served.
Papa Curry's commitment to quality also extended to their presentation. Each dish was meticulously garnished, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and artistic flair. The elegant plating enhanced the overall dining experience and showcased the care and craftsmanship that went into every creation.
In addition to the extraordinary food, the restaurant's ambiance was both elegant and comfortable. The modern decor, adorned with subtle Indian accents, created an inviting atmosphere that was perfect for a memorable dining experience. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that every need was met with efficiency and grace, making me feel like a valued guest.
It is worth mentioning that the prices at Papa Curry are reflective of the exceptional quality of the food and service provided. While it may be considered a splurge for some, the experience is worth every penny for food enthusiasts who appreciate the finer nuances of Indian cuisine.

TL;dr
You'll find at other places, the service is polite but rushed. Even if you are under pressure, you don't want to seem rushed to the customer who will feel like just another number. Papa Curry did this really well and made our visit that much more enjoyable. Hospitality in nature and business which was fantastic. Definitely an integral restaurant in the heart of Little India. A place to visit again and again. Highly highly recommend.
There are certain factors that make 'Papa Curry' stand out in Little India. Yes, the food is pretty good, a decent selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic (with mocktails on offer) & certain requests also available to be met. Spice can be turned up or turned down which is exactly what you want, depending on the day.
When you're going to a place named Little India and entering an Indian restaurant, you'd like that Indian hospitality & service. That's exactly what we've had each and every time at Papa Curry, especially our most recent visit.
We were served by the very well spoken, friendly and accommodating server by the name of Prachi. She was insightful but also humble where she didn't know information and was confident in pointing out how she'll find out the information. After saying so, she didn't disappear for half an hour like most places, she came back with an answer in under a minute. That is how you know the server cares about you as a customer of the business. Top service by Prachi, skills that she can carry her far in any client facing role in and out of hospitality.
We were also approached and tended to by the owner, Prince. A lovely person who took the time to make sure our experience for the evening was top notch. Checked in every little while, asked about any changes to be made. I'm not sure if this was on purpose but what I also realised is that he would only approach when we had the ability to speak and weren't busy in conversation or stuffing our faces! This is an important skill if you do plan to visit a table more than once. He also proved insightful with his ideas, was clearly knowledgeable about his business and was a very friendly and hospitable 'host', as if we were not in his restaurant, but his home. Difficult to find that kind of respect everywhere.
Thank you for making our experience comfortable and memorable, these are definitely factors that stick with you. We'll be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Papa Curry in Harris park, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the perfect tone—warm, inviting, and infused with the rich aromas of traditional Indian spices.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the depth and complexity of Indian cuisine. The appetizers, like the crispy samosas and the melt-in-your-mouth pakoras, were the perfect start to the meal. The chutneys accompanying them were vibrant and tangy, adding layers of flavor that danced on the palate.
For the main course, The Sarson ka Saag was rich, earthy, and full of flavor. The mustard greens were perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of spice and seasoning. It had a comforting, rustic quality, and the tanginess from the addition of ingredients like garlic and ginger brought out its natural flavors without overpowering them. The texture was smooth yet hearty, with a slight creamy finish that made each bite satisfying.
The Makki ki Roti (cornmeal flatbread) was the perfect accompaniment. It was thick, slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside—just as it should be. The mild sweetness of the cornmeal paired beautifully with the Saag, making for a harmonious combination. Each bite felt authentic, and the bread had that rustic, hand-crafted feel that truly transported me to the heart of Punjabi cuisine.
What really impressed me was the authenticity of the flavors. Each dish was clearly made with care, using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, specially staff girl navjot kaur ,offering recommendations that perfectly complemented each course. Their attention to detail, both in the presentation and service, truly elevated the experience.
