An interesting property that once contained the first successful farm run by convict James Ruse and explains the history of the current house that stands on the grounds. The house is only open on the first and third Friday and Saturday of each month. Staff take you around and explain the history of the land and the property. It takes about an hour to do the full tour. Staff are polite and informative. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance at the rear of the cottage. There is no accessibility to the cellar. Read moreThis cottage is part of the National Trust, and it's only 12 $ for non-members to have a guided tour of the place. Must visit for history buffs interested in Sydney at the time of the first white settlers. The furniture inside is not the original furniture of the house, but the National Trust chose it to match the period, and some pieces are really cool to see (the cosmetics boxes, the traveling safes, the medicine box etc.).
