As a Singaporean living in Sydney, it's nice to have PappaRich close by serving the standard fare such as Laksa, Rendang, Nasi Lemak, Char Kway Teow, Chicken Rice, Roti Canai, Drinks, and Desserts. They provide a variety of different configurations of those dishes so you can get pretty close to the combination you like. As a chain, their food is very consistent, tasty, and portions are good (not large but decent). The prices are in line with Asian restaurants (more than Asian takeaways). I've tasted all the items listed in the first paragraph and all have been good. I do like a slightly drier, less saucy, Rendang, but it was still tasty. PappaRich is conveniently located at the top of the centre, near Chef's Gallery and Bondi Pizza. It can get busy at peak eating times, so be prepared to write your name down and wait for it to be called. The good thing is the food generally comes out quickly (Roti taking a bit more time).

Probably my favourite place to sit down & have a meal with a group of friends (particularly during stressful, tiring or just genuinely busy weeks)!!! Been a number of times over the years since 2019 and there's never a dull moment! The most recent time although it probably marked the latest I've ever been we were having such a good time that the Grandma next to us kept on shooting us looks!!! Food (including drinks) has always been top notch and on the whole the service has been, at minimum alright or better! My Go-To-Favourites are the Malaysian Style Drinks eg Teh Tarik and the Nasi Lemaks...I tend to alternate between which Nasi Lemak I choose but my absolute favourite is definitely The Curry Chicken one! 🍛

After my dining experience in multiple Papparich's around Sydney, I was excited to try out Macquarie's franchise. I was very disappointed with the experience. My meal consisted of the Sambal Sotong (Squid with Sambal paste) and a Chill Pan Mee. The Samabal Sotong didn't taste very fresh at all, and the squid tasted like it was placed into the fryer, ruining the flavour and the texture of the squid. Furthermore, the Chill Pan Mee was very bland, the egg and the noodles not seasoned very well. The mined meat that came with it however was very nice, with the vegetables and ikan belis (Anchovies) tasting very nice. The Assam Laksa that my friend had didn't taste like authentic assam laksa that other Papparich's or Malaysian restaurants taste like; it was very watery. Although the service from the staff was very good, with no mix up with orders, the food reflects poorly on Malaysian cuisine and the Papparich franchise. I have returned over the course of a year to see improvement, but it seems like it has not. I hope the management takes this feedback with consideration.

Decent Malaysian food. What’s great about PappaRich is the extensive variety of Malaysian food that they sell though they don’t have an item that stands out among other Malaysian restaurants. We had the: 🍜Char Kuay Teow - wok hei is there but taste is average 🍚Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang - rendang is tender, rice was too moist, santan (coconut milk) a little too heavy, sambal is sweet, generous portion 🐟Fish fillet Noodle Soup - this was decent, batter of the fish wasn’t too soggy which was great, soup was tasty, generous portions 🫓Naan with Chicken Curry - naan obviously needs to come from a tandoor so it isn’t like the naan you’d get from a mamak or an Indian restaurant. 🍞Roti with curries - decent Service was great - no complains.

Today, I also observed an inconsistency in Papa Rich's food quality. The Tandoori chicken thigh was disappointingly burnt and overly dry, in contrast to the consistently delicious seafood laksa. Despite this, my primary concern arose when I noticed a significant amount of dirt or mold on a water bottle and shared my feedback with the waitress. Unfortunately, the response, claiming daily washing, reflected an attitude of dismissing customer concerns. I sincerely hope Papa Rich addresses both the food quality and hygiene issues promptly to maintain the reputation they've built for delicious and satisfying meals.

Absolutely Disgusting This shop makes money minimum 20K per day but they don’t want to spend 1500$ to paint the Ceiling I’m so so sorry for Ryde council and NSW health and food check to not close this restaurant All over the ceiling has Mould and people eating food under the that roof with mould Other things about food so so expensive They charge you for rice and chicken 19$ but you get 50gram chicken meat plus 300 gram chicken skin Absolutely disgusting and I’m so so disappointed Never ever go there and I will tell everyone to don’t go there
