Pho Oanh is hidden away in the Good Luck Plaza (the one on the corner block not the one on the next block). This was my second visit, on the first one I went to the wrong one. This place is very popular and every table was in use. Lucky I was able to share a table with someone already there. The place is more of an eating house than a restaurant and this adds in my view to the atmosphere. It has very simple and not fancy decor and is priced accordingly. It costs $12 for a rare beef pho which comes in a decent size and was served with lime quarters instead of the usual lemon quarter. It reminded me of pho on my recent trip to Vietnam as did the simple restaurant though much cleaner. Now it wasn't the best pho I've had but it was pretty good and worth more than the price they charge. I also got three pork vermicelli rolls for $6 which is a great price. I scored them slightly down for service because they were a little overwhelmed and were prompted by 9ther customers to bring drinks. They actually forgot mine and asked me at payment if I still wanted it. I even received an apology and an explanation and yes I agree they were busy. At their prices you shouldn't expect that level of service anyway hence why I only scaled them one star instead of two. I would highly recommend this place for a good authentic feed that is better than what you should expect for the price. By example, Pho Pasteur in Westpoint makes in my view a better Pho but is $8 dearer and also dearer across the menu. The parking around this part of Blacktown can be a challenge but is...
Read moreThe most recommendable vietnamese restaurant in Blacktown ... Pho fans well understand that the soup is the soul of a bowl of vietnamese beef noodles followed by the beef quality. My uncle and I have tasted this favourite in many Vietnamese restaurants from Parramatta to Blacktown and regard Pho Oanh as giving the best CP value. The soup was authentic without MSG causing oral dryness and uneasiness. We ordered raw beef and beef balls noodles. The pieces of beef were tender and the beef balls were of good consistency. Another delight was the spring rolls which were prepared in mini-rolls. The size of each roll gave alternative experience of comfortable biting and chewing. They were crispy with decent ingredients inside. Overall, it was a rewarding dining experience and we will go there again despite...
Read moreThis place is good, but the fact of some people push in the line to get the table is pretty rude. I know it's not much need to exaggerated since it is commonly occurring theses days everywhere, however thinking about the people who waited for the table for a long time to get a seat inside this nice restaurant either after work or school here for the good food, than suddenly someone just decides it their day to shine and push in?🤷🏻♂️ although if your a person have an medical excuse that cannot stand for too long outside seems reasonable to cut in,but when you have nothing I say nothing to affect what so ever to stand outside to wait in line like others,I am genuinely concerned. Like🤷🏻♂️wow, where did you even get that confidence from?free of will or lack of manners? I thought that is a common thing...
