Rene's Pizza Place Blacktown — Restaurant in Sydney

Manager's "assumption" my partner, whose just out of hospital , was drunk !! He ordered pizza tonight, gave card details and asked how long till they were delivered . The Lady taking the order said 1.5 hours. Partner said no that's far too long and wanted it cancelled. She said the money was already taken. He asked for the manager who said he'd refund it but would be 1 -3 days until the money would be refunded. My partner swore as he was frustrated because the manager told him the pizzas were "ALREADY COOKING" but "would still take an hour to get here" How fresh would pizza's be after an hour sitting waiting to be delivered???. You have to be kidding!!! My partner has just come out of hospital after cancer surgery and just wanted me to have a night off cooking !! Came in for lunch, ordered a pizza and the lasagne. The pizza tasted fine, but definitely not worth 5 stars. I can see other 5 star reviewers saying the pizza is baked using wood fire, which is a lie, it's just a conveyor pizza oven like at Domino's. The lasagne was microwaved in a takeout box before being served to us. They didn't even try to hide that it wasn't freshly prepared. The presentation looked as it was tipped from the takeout container onto our plate. The whole lasagne was mushy, and when a bite was taken from the centre, it was cold compared to the outside due to evident microwaving. I wouldn't recommend the $18 lasagne to anyone. Don't even think it should be worth that much when much cheaper shops do lasagne baked on the day for a little over $10.

I've been ordering from Rene's pizza for yrs. They relocated to this central location in Blacktown near the University. If driving to eat in or take away, there is a HUGE UNDERGROUD CAR PARK no charge if picking up take away and a few car spots at entrance of the restaurant. Drive very slow so u don't miss the allocated areas. I like the Rosa prawn fettuccine or chicken delight with prawns, the garlic bread is a special small baguette style treat not so ordinary. Lovely contemporary outfitting in the restaurant. Rene and staff are very polite, down to earth, friendly, well spoken young staff that speak and understand English fluently. Selection of wines is available to have with meals. Lots of glass windows for ppl watching. Nearby is Cincottas pharmacy, fruit shop & main st shopping.
