Café de la Fontaine is a French Café, Creperie and Patisserie right in the heart of Potts Point,

The styling is Parisian with its art, hanging chandeliers and it feels all the more authentic with the French speaking wait staff.

On our day of visit, the cafe is absolutely packed with at least 20 people waiting for their coffee and the inside dining space nearby full. We grab the last spot inside as we opt to have a cooked meal.

Their dine in menu offers both sweet crepes and savoury ones (known as galettes). They are making them fresh to order, which results in them being a bit slow.

We order a savoury galette, which have a bit of an obsession with at the moment. Being pregnant, the staff kindly replace the feta for me with an emmental cheese. I enjoy the vegetarian with artichoke, cheese, fresh tomato and beetroot hummus. This is very reasonably priced at only $12.

Our dining party also orders the La Tartin, which is a sweet version, with caramelised apples and cinnamon. The crepe is drizzled with sauce and we ordered a scoop of ice cream.

If you’d prefer a baked good, their window showcases all their plain croissants, almond croissants and amazing patisserie goods, specifically eclairs!

They do coffee here with Tobys Estate, and if you’re a latte art fan like me, request something cool, for the...

A Hidden Gem with French Flair – A Must-Visit Café!

f you're in the mood for a cozy escape with a touch of French elegance, this café is a must-visit! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that instantly transports you to a quaint Parisian corner. The décor is charming with vintage touches and soft, open kitchen, ambient lighting that make it feel like you’re sitting in a chic small café along the Seine.

The service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff here are not only friendly but genuinely attentive, making sure that every customer feels welcome and well cared for. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it really shows in the little details — from the warm greetings to the perfect timing of your coffee orders.

Speaking of coffee, the barista here is nothing short of a magician! He clearly has a passion for his craft and knows how to make a perfect cup of coffee. Watching them work is like witnessing an artist at their best. Every drink is made with precision and care, and you can taste the difference.

Whether you're here for a catch-up with friends, or just a quick coffee break, this café is the perfect setting. The blend of amazing service, cozy ambiance, and expert coffee makes it a standout...

Fantastic location !!!! To watch the world go by and see all the uniqueness of the best area in Sydney.

If you're looking to be served (at all) or staff that actually enjoy their job PLEASE STAY AWAY ! while there have been some good reviews regarding this venue you won't be surprised to know that these good reviews come from people who, shall we say, don't pay for or are friends of staff. The manager (short girl with long hair) seems like she hasn't worked in customer service in her life and is more interested in NO service rather than good service ( which would be unusual if you are served within 10 mins even with this "manager" looking right at you ) Can't understand why a company who owns the whole block of businesses along the strip would allow this business to fail. Overall .... Fail fail fail At least we have other good cafes in the area to be treated with respect and service. Avoid at all cost ( menu items overpriced and usually don't come as what menu says or cold ) Good as a tourist...

No response from management or owner??? Is this how you treat paying customers in your cafe? Absolutely disgusted with the service I received from this cafe, I have been here several times ordering takeaway. Today I decided to sit in (with a takeaway coffee) and within 15mins was approached by a very aggressive lady claiming to be the owners friend asking me to leave as i was drinking my coffee in a takeaway cup. Despite there being several tables empty in the cafe. I felt unbelievably harassed with no support from the staff. When asking for the owners details to protest this and take it with them directly I was told I wasn’t allowed. Shocking service! If this is common practice please make this clear upon ordering. Will never go back here again. The lady on the right is the one in question. The unhelpful staff member on the left. I can’t believe this is how you treat paying customers
