The Feed Punchers have been anticipating this one for a while, Salumerie, a small deli sandwich shop positioned in a beautiful little courtyard in Potts Point. We visited close to the close of business and the bread and ingredients were all still fresh - This is a great indicator for a quality sandwich shop, as it shows consistency and a passion for fresh/good quality ingredients.

-The Mortadella. Wow. Quite simply the best sandwich we have tried yet in Sydney. All these sandwiches featured the most incredibly soft focaccia which was dense yet fluffy. The Mortadella was fatty and delicate on the palate, melting on the tongue. The stracciatella was a creamy, authentic perfection, the pesto was beautifully fragrant and fresh and the added pistachios added a subtle nutty finish. A purely gorgeously balanced sandwich.

-The ‘Classica’ featured prosciutto, which also melted on the tounge in the best way possible, fatty and salty. The taste was more light, allowing the stracciatella to take charge in flavour.

-The Porchetta sandwich had an incredibly fatty Porchetta pork, housing a slight herb taste of oregano and basil. It had a slight chilli kick which perfectly complimented the saltiness and fattiness coming from the pork. The mozzarella used was creamy and delicious and went perfect with the sweet smoky eggplant.

Overall, these sandwiches were very impressive, fresh, authentic and easily topping our list for sandwiches in Sydney thus far....
