I recently dined at Rossini cafe and bar and, unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. While I was excited to try their famous milkshakes, I was shocked by their exorbitant prices. For what I paid, I expected a delicious, refreshing treat, but what I received was a warm milkshake that lacked flavor and freshness. The coffee was another letdown—served in a surprisingly small cup that barely registered as a proper serving size. It also arrived lukewarm, which is far from ideal for a beverage that should be enjoyed hot. To top it all off, I ordered a bowl of chips, which was minuscule. For the price, I expected at least a decent portion, but what I got was barely enough to share, let alone satisfy my cravings. Overall, the experience was disappointing. I left feeling like I had paid a premium for subpar food and beverages. I hope they can improve their offerings, as the concept has potential, but for now, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Basically overpriced due to location and not a real quality establishment. I know everyone is sick of banging on about covid but these people took no precautions on terms of vaccination checks etc which is disappointing. The food was nice enough and we played it safe with pasta. I had the special and my daughter had tortellini. The service was good but one waitress and questionable by the other. The weekend surcharge would have had me go elsewhere if I'd seen the fine print earlier - maybe try that if people are fighting to get in the place but this place is regularly half empty but now I know why! Verdict - nice enough but opt for elsewhere if you're looking for more bang for your buck and a better experience.

Located at Alfred Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 (opposite the ferry wharf 6 at Circular Quay) I have been here several times now, it’s one of a few good, convenient places to eat in Circular Quay. Very conveniently located directly across from the ferry wharves and under the Circular Quay Railway station 🚉. The service is always top notch, very friendly and professional. Nothing too much trouble and respectful to our group which includes people with disabilities, including wheelchairs 🦽. Our food has always been delicious, today I had a piece of red velvet cake and it was so yummy 😋. The prices are pretty reasonable, considering the location. Would definitely recommend. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Terrible service.

I recently visited before boarding a cruise with family - with high hopes for a pleasant coffee break and meal. Sadly, my experience at this establishment was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I walked in until the time I left, it was a series of unpleasant encounters that left a bitter taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.

Let me start with the coffee. It was not drinkable. I ordered an almond flat white. Instead, what I received was a lukewarm, watered-down concoction that lacked any semblance of taste. It was evident that little care had been taken in brewing the cup of coffee.

To make matters worse, the manager's rude behavior only exacerbated my dissatisfaction. Not only was he dismissive and impolite towards my family and me, but he also treated the staff poorly. It was disheartening to witness such unprofessional conduct from someone in a managerial position.

When it was time to pay the bill, the manager's rudeness escalated further. We kindly requested to split the bill, a reasonable and common request in most establishments. However, the manager completely ignored our request and proceeded to serve another customer, effectively skipping us. It was a display of utter disregard for customer service and basic courtesy.

Even during meal service, the manager failed to engage with us. He simply placed our meals on the table without saying a word and failed to provide water. It was as if we were an inconvenience, unworthy of even a basic acknowledgment. This lack of communication and attention to customers is unforgivable and reflects poorly on the cafe's commitment to providing a pleasant dining experience.

My visit to this place left me deeply dissatisfied. The disgusting coffee, coupled with the manager's rude behavior towards both customers and staff, and his dismissive attitude towards our request to split the bill, made for an unpleasant experience overall. I cannot recommend this cafe to anyone seeking quality service and a welcoming atmosphere. There are far better options available in the area that value their customers and pride themselves on exceptional coffee and customer service.

It was notable how many people left without finishing their coffee or...

On Monday, June 9, 2025, I went with my husband to have a coffee at this place located in Circular Quay. Upon arrival, we were attended by an Asian waitress —the only one working that day— who, from the very beginning, showed a very unfriendly attitude. She asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. Since it was cold, we chose to sit inside. When she brought us the menu, we told her we wanted a coffee and a cappuccino, but before we could finish ordering, she took the menu away with a visibly annoyed expression, as if it bothered her that we hadn’t read the menu. My husband even had to go after her to complete the order, since we called her and she didn’t respond (or didn’t want to).

I was about to leave, but my husband —who is very patient— decided to stay because we had already placed the order. The bad service continued, not only with us —she gave us a disdainful look— but with everyone who arrived and chose to sit inside. It clearly seemed to bother her. We couldn’t help but notice how she treated people: no kindness, no willingness, and as if she hated being at work that day. Honestly, instead of serving customers, that lady should go feed the seagulls — she is not fit to deal with people or even smile.

The coffee and cappuccino arrived lukewarm and were nothing special. We didn’t stay long — it wasn’t worth spending our money there. I much prefer City Extra, where we’re always welcomed with a smile and a good attitude.

I understand we can all have a bad day, but if you work with the public, the bare minimum is respect and courtesy. We pay for the service — we’re not getting a favor. Besides, we are Australian residents, not tourists — but even if we were, what impression are visitors left with if this is how they’re treated?

I think the older woman at the counter —possibly the owner— should be made aware of this employee’s attitude. Teach her some courtesy, respect, and how to smile. That Asian lady is extremely rude. A business can lose many customers because of someone who clearly has no vocation for service.

I won’t be returning. There are plenty of other places in the area where customers are...

This place is the definition of a tourist trap. If it wasn't for the perfect location, there is no possible way they would keep their doors open.

The fact the place was pretty much empty at dinner time should have been the biggest red flag immediately, but I was starving and the view from the restaurant was really nice so thought we would give it a crack.

We ordered a prosciutto pizza and a spaghetti bolognese, and we genuinely couldn't stomach more than a few bites. The food was somehow worse than microwave meals I've eaten at home on a desperate night.

The pizza dough was dry like a cracker, and the prosciutto was hard and warm?? The spaghetti was very chewy and lacked flavour.

This could have been excused if the staff could have replaced our dishes with something decent, but instead when we politely enquired if the food was fresh we were gaslighted by the staff who were trying to tell us everything was perfect and we don't know anything about italian food. Well we eat at quality italian restaurants weekly and have also been to Italy so I definitely know good italian food, and what we tried tonight was an insult.

One waitress admitted the pizza doughs were store bought and frozen, whilst another lied that everything was fresh and that it was somehow insulting that we didn't enjoy the food. They also tried to tell me I was the first person who has ever complained, and looked shocked when I mentioned they legit have 100s of 1 star reviews.

The staff were adamant that we had to pay full price even though the food was inedible, and were trying to tell us that "this is Australia, you have to pay" as if we are some immigrants who don't understand the culture? (Lived here my whole life lol)

Even the old lady who I am pretty sure is the owner came over at the start and when I tried to send the food back she just said "lots of people buy it" and just walked away...

Just a very disappointing restaurant who clearly doesn't care about anything except getting dollars into their pockets to keep their rent payments up. Avoid and just go literally...
