Read moreThere were a lot of positives with the food however a number of things did go wrong and the servers did try to make up for it. We arrived at the restaurant early for our 8.45pm reservation, we did wait for a bit before anyone noticed and checked in with us. Once we were seated we did notice the half of the restaurant was outdoors and it was quite a chilly night and there was not enough heaters for the space. We ordered promptly as we were hungry and the entree of fried burrata did arrive quickly. We noticed the sauce in the entree was cold however assumed it might be designed that way since it was an entree, the flavours were delightful classic combination of burrata, tomatoes and basil with added texture of the fried burrata.
After entree we ordered the gnocchi ragu and cacio e pepe, the gnocchi arrived cold which we told the server and she was immediately apologetic and send it back to the kitchen. While the we waited the manager approached us and insisted he tasted the gnocchi was warm, this left a bad impression as it felt like he insisted we were lying. The conversation ended with a new plate to be sent out. We did get our gnocchi which was served hot and tasted absolutely delicious, we did polosh it off very quickly. There must have been some confusion with the timing or pacing as our steak and potatoes before our cacio e pepe. The standout were the steak and potatoes and it had really good flavour and the potatoes was nicely balanced between savoury with a touch of sweet. The cacio e pepe was creamy however we felt lacked any seasoning. Due to the mix up the server was kind enough to remove the cacio e pepe from the bill and served chocolate cake in addition to the tiramisu we had ordered.
The chocolate cake is a winner and a very decadent end to the meal while the tiramisu was light and not very sweet. Overall it was a good meal as enjoyed the food and the service was good however there are clearly a few teething issues to...
Read moreFood was good, service terrible. I know it’s only a week old, but our experience was poor. The staff were very pleasant but needed more training. We had booked an indoor table and when we arrived we were seated outside. That was ok as the heaters were on. We were quickly offered water and given menus (all good), the our food and wine order were taken (so far great). Our entree Burrata arrived really quickly, then one glass of wine….entree over and still no other wine. Finally turned up well after the entree was finished. The we waited for our pastas, and waited and waited. Over an hour later one of the staff said sorry there had been a mixup in the kitchen. Meanwhile we had been watching all the staff trying to work out where meals were meant to be going all night, with food being delivered to wrong tables, staff going back and forward to the kitchen to figure out who the food was for. Almost seemed like an episode of faulty towers. Finally we got our pastas (which were good). Staff offered us freebies but we declined. We said we had a concert to go to so asked for the bill. It took almost 10 minutes for the bill to come, then it was another table’s bill. Waiter went away and brought our table’s bill only to be missing all the drinks we had (which were $100). We raised this and then the waiter had to get the wine list and re-enter all the drinks onto the bill. One cock-up we can deal with, but this was the most amateurish restaurant experience we have had for a long time. Get a proper front of house who knows what they are doing and can train the...
