Our experience was very disappointing. We made a reservation over a week in advance, and got the unlimited drinks option (A$38 per person, on top of the A$85 per person for the “buffet”), in total we paid A$245 for 90 minutes. Our reservation was for 1730 but we arrived early by 15 minutes because we knew it could be difficult to find. They wrote down our check in time exactly as arrived at reception, 1715. You have to go through security, elevator ride to the top, wait in a line at the top to be seated; all of which was relatively short since we had a 1730 reservation in a Thursday, but still took over 15 minutes, so “arrived” (according to our placard) at 1715 but weren’t sat until 1730 at which point they said we had 90 minutes (but from the time they wrote at reception, which wasn’t ever articulated to us). Drink orders were taken at 1740. The drink options were: one brut/bubbles, one white wine, one red wine, 5-6 beer options, and two cocktails which were: a mimosa (the brut from above and orange juice) or a “pineapple sour” (pineapple juice and midori). We paid an extra A$38 per person for drinks and it was extremely difficult to get a host to take our drink orders. Toward the end of what our time should have been (which I thought was going to be 1900, 90 minutes from when we were sat and had our reservation) I looked at the time they wrote down and worried we were not going to get an additional round of drinks (after a few rounds already ordered but for “unlimited” drinks), that was 1840, I began trying to find hosts to place our final drink order, thinking we may have until 1900 (as our reservation AND when we were actually sat would have indicated) but assuming we had until 1845 based one what was written, no one came by until 1855 at which point they said we were past our time and needed to leave. When they did come by for orders they were nice, but we definitely had to wait way longer than expected for having purchases a drink package to order drinks over the course of our meal. The Buffett food was ridiculous. A very small salad bar, some seafood which was good but certainly not worth what we paid, some Asian food which consisted of some noodles, pineapple fried rice, mini vegetable egg rolls, Jasmin rice, a lentil dish and another veggie dish. They also had an eclectic section which was crisps/french fries, chicken nuggets, a pasta option, roasted potatoes, and some sliced meats. It was very difficult to find any sauce containers the entire time we were here, which was unfortunately not long, but definitely impeded on having a full experience (think: soy sauce, ginger, ketchup, bbq sauce, etc.) there were clear places where containers were supposed to be that were not restocked the entire time we were here, again, not really very long but long enough time that these should have been replenished. The dessert section was colorful but lackluster in taste. This was definitely not worth what we paid and traveled here for. Your money is better spent getting a nice, quality meal anywhere else in Sydney and going to a rooftop bar for pictures. There are (understandably) so many lights inside that it’s almost impossible to get a good photo of the scenery at night or leading up to sunset. It’s excellent to look at but not at all suitable for photos after dark if you want to be in them. We would never recommend to...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience we had here. After trying to discuss the issue privately with no resolution I have now come to post my honest review of this Sydney point of interest, its management and further information about the management of this place.
It was a beautiful day in July my family and I attended the tower we were super excited and hungry! We had just finished a beautiful walk in the aquarium and we were ready to eat!! We arrived and the service was already sub par. The windows had markings on them and it was apparent the end of the line of food was all that was left. The seafood buffet was disgusting. The lemons were old and obviously refrigerated and not fresh. Some things were clearly not made on the day and were re heated from perhaps the dinner service from the night before. The food was bland, and it was a very limited choice for a "buffet". After the horrible food we left. It wasn't even an hour later and we were sick. We all had to rush back to our place of rest and it was not ok. I reached out to the 'manager' and his response was extremely hostile and violent. He immediately requested as much information as possible. I wanted an apology and a refund. I didn't ask for anything other than what I believe I am entitled to as a patron who got sick from the food bacteria present at the restaurant. I have now looked into who the cold hearted manager is and he is a food and beverage attendant with less experience than any manager of a prevalent iconic restaurant should have, he has become the manager in only 5 years. Covid obviously helped boost his career. I've never heard of a manager with less than 15 years hospitality experience. But he has only studied management in Nepal, he started his career in 2017. His response does mirror his experience or lack of. It was so horrible to have to hear such a generic uncaring reply from the manager. I warn all families and all couples and tourists alike who think dining here is a good idea or option, please steer clear. *warning please of the photo it's very graphic. I will post the photos of my eyes because of the bacteria poisoning I experienced. It took two weeks of treatment to get better. My family was extremely sick for the following weeks coming as well. We all had a bacteria infection.
We did not eat anywhere else that day as we were waiting for the buffet. Like most people we can only intake so much. We could have had ten feasts for the amount of money spent. We didn't even eat more than two plates, because the food was disgusting. It was frozen food and obviously not fresh.
In conclusion, the manager is a team member of the Trippas white group. If you look at their reputation and reviews you will be able to see why this place is crumbling under this management. The ceo of trippas white group is also a money shark. It's only money now, not class.
These places used to represent luxury, but with these two sharks this place is now another dump with sub par food and service. Still has a nice view. But you can just visit the observation deck for that.

Read moreI was taken to dinner at SkyFeast, a restaurant perched high above the city in Sydney Tower. The restaurant rotates and the views are spectacular. We were seated by the window (extra charge) and had foolishly opted for the premium packages for both food and drink, which meant very little, as the premium drinks advertised were not available on the night, and it required us to wear a tawdry paper wrist band as if we were attending a music festival or an amusement park. These were handed to us earlier, where on arrival at the base of Sydney Tower, guests are required to pay for dinner upfront in full. The cost for four was breathtaking. We might have gone to any of Sydney's finest, most renowned restaurants for the same price. After paying we were asked by surly staff to put on our wrist bands and wait standing in a busy, public passageway until called. Ten minutes passed awkwardly by until we were shunted through security, where our pockets and bags had to be emptied before we were passed through a metal detector. Then, officious staff rounded us up like cattle and pressed us into narrow dirty lifts. Moments later we had arrived at the top. My first impression was I had gone back in time and boarded The Love Boat, such was the decor. I was eagerly looking out for Captain Stubing, when a member of staff marched us to our table just as the sun was setting. Magnificent. Seated, I downgraded the decor from Love Boat to 1980s RSL, which was more accurate than I initially thought, as the staff member pointed out the buffet. As we were determined to enjoy ourselves, we took in the view, chatted, chased down staff for more second tier drinks and ate as much as humanly possible from the buffet. But it was difficult to forget the enormous cost of dining on substandard fare in the air. SkyFeast’s one advantage is the unbeatable view. I note here that general admission to the viewing deck of Sydney Tower is $42. Which is what our RSL buffet dinner was worth, though we paid nearly four times as much. After a quick trip the filthy loos, I returned to our table just as we were being told to leave as our time was up. Yes, the meals are strictly timed, like rides at an amusement park. I did appreciate the consistency of the staff's approach to service - surly to start, surly in the middle, surly to the last. If we enjoyed ourselves, that was on us and our determination to have a good time regardless of the circumstances, no encouragement was given by SkyFeast. My advice, if you want to enjoy fine dining with a view try restaurants in Circular Quay, The Rocks or Darling Harbour where you get what you pay for. The view might not be as spectacular, but the food will be worth...
