Food and coffee are ok but not great, overpriced though and worst of all, it has one of those QR code ordering systems that asks for a ridiculous amount of personal information! Name, phone number, email address?! This has got to stop, I will not have my personal information sold on when I just want to order a bit of food and a drink.
Edit: To the response below, the one star was not for the QR code but for the dodgy practices with my personal information. If you aren't seeing the data then the software provider you use are! Tell them to remove asking for all my information (as many others do where I can order without giving over all that information) and then I will remove or update my review. Go check out how most places use QR codes - you can be completely anonymous if you wish. Also, you say I'm trying to wreck your business? Feedback is a gift - I imagine many people have just straight up left your business when they saw all the info provided. The only reason we didn't leave was that we were in a rush and it was a group of people who hadn't seen each other for a while so we had to use our time wisely. I can certainly tell a lot more about you now after that response as well and so will hundreds of others who read this. Bottom line is that you should swallow your pride and listen to your customers. All the best.
Edit 2: Good stuff on the below, thank you! There is definitely some information asked that should be optional so that would be a great outcome if changed. I promise to swing by in a month and leave a glowing review for your excellent way you've dealt with this - I've upped the score in...
Read moreCame here last week and we sat on the seats outside the cafe (located in Ashurst building) in Martin Place. We ordered via the app at 12:02pm. The bill came to close to $30 which was 2 x coffees and 1 x breakfast meal. At 12:15pm the 2 x coffees came out with a receipt with a 12:15pm time stamp. At 12:23 I asked a male waiter to check in on the food as it has been a while. WOW I was shocked. He said “show me the receipt what you ordered”, the receipt only had 2 x coffees on it but will a price of $30 and he rudely responded “YOU DIDN’T ORDER FOOD”. I responded are you sure as it is definitely not $30 for 2 coffees and he said he’ll be back and took the receipt to the kitchen. He came out at 12:26pm once again and said loudly “YOU ORDERED AT 12:15 LOOK AT THE RECEIPT, ITS ONLY 10 MINUTES” which I then responded calmly as now other tables were looking “no I didn’t, we got here at 11:50 and ordered at 12:02pm”. He once again emphasised we ordered at 12:15pm…. I am a 32 year old male and my colleague is a 57 year old female who was staring to get uncomfortable as we were sitting down and he was standing over us so I said “ok it’s all good mate” and he walked away and didn’t even respond. Atrocious service, never witnessed...

They’ve got their seasonal house blends, the kind that earned Reuben Hills its street cred in Surry Hills, and it pairs well with a menu that doesn’t shy away from taking risks.
This isn’t your standard bacon-and-egg affair. Here, they’re serving up a punchy, satisfying version of Nasi Goreng—Indonesian street food royalty, right alongside their vegetarian-friendly Hills Bowl, fresh and filling without being too virtuous.
The setup? It’s all about understated elegance—concrete slab benchtops, moody black marble, and wooden stools that feel more high-design than coffee shop kitsch.
Hills Bros doesn’t just blend coffee; it blends into the pulse of the city, reminding us that good taste and grit can—and should—go...
