While this escape room looks well set up from the outside, the rooms are small and claustrophobic to the extreme, and highly underwhelming compared to other experiences of escape rooms. The lack of insulation between rooms means that you constantly are hearing what is going on outside your room (which includes the the staffs questionable choice in music), which is highly distracting.
The room we were in was poorly decorated (especially given the comparative cost of the rooms to more bespoke rooms) and the single bulb light made fiddly tasks very challenging.
Because of a failure to reset the room completely we where given erroneous directions given by the staff, and as a result we spent a lot of our time (even after asking about the random lock) trying to decode a clue that was no part of the actual game anymore, which made for an insanely stressful and confusing time for no reason (even if clearing the room had not been an the objective).
But honestly if you need to give everyone who is attempting your rooms clues (I walked out because I don't need the stress of being stuck in a small room of frustration, and the staff were constantly getting requests for assistance from the occupied rooms) either your directions are unclear, your set up is poor or your rooms are just not that well designed.
On the design side, there are significant numbers of "clues" in the room that have nothing actually to do with the puzzles at hand which means rather than just working out the clues you had to work out which cues are clues... before you work out the clues... and even after having the room explained some of the the clues where still inexplicable.
From a maintenance perspective many of the locks were sticky and the lack of light made them hard to decipher.
I think I reviewed another escape room, you should go there before...

We were really excited for the day out in the big city for my son's 13th birthday. One of his favourite things to do is escape rooms.
I was booked in for a 10am escape room (Wizard) experience on Friday the 20th of January. My group and three other groups waited patiently in the downstairs lobby as the sign said back in 10 mins. Well lets just say that was a long ten minutes. Eventually only one of the ladies received a call from a male staff member who said that he was running late and he could not give us a time. She asked numerous times for a rough time. He would not say anything. He told her it was up to her (us) if we wanted to wait (but with no clue on the timeframe)! I tried to contact the number on their website to gather more information, with no answer.
We hung around the area as my two children (one with autism) were very excited to attend the escape room. About 40 minutes after our 10am time slot did I finally receive my call from a male staff member. He came across rude and with little regard for the stuff around he had caused my family and the other people waiting. He offered a new timeslot of 4:30pm. This was not accaptable at all. There is no way that my ASD child would be able to cope with a day full of changes on top of the disappoint he was feeling from not being able to do the one activity he wanted to do for his birthday.
We did not just lose the activity for my son, but the expense of two adults and two children traveling to the city, food and drinks and time I could have done something else with my children. I am extremely disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism I received from The Escape Hunt Experience.
Will not return and do...
Read moreWon't be going back. I'm quite experienced in Escape Rooms, and this has got to be the worst one I've ever been to. When we first got there, everything was fine and we were excited to play. Once we arrived in our room (Bank Heist), we discovered that this was a lock-less room (i.e. padlock only and no coded locks). This was very disappointing as usually the websites state if they are or not, and this one had no mention of it. Also very annoying when we would ask for a clue, we would almost always have a different person answer the walkie-talkie, and then ask us where we're at - which is just literally wasting my time. Someone should be watching a room at all times. Their clues and puzzles weren't very good, and you didn't know what order you had to go through things with, so you'd pick something up in the first room, only to find out you don't need it until the very end. Plus depending on who you spoke to, they would often just give you the answer instead of giving you a clue to help you work it out. This room also requires relatively quick-thinking math skills, which is a bit unfair to the average Joe that's there to have fun instead of feeling like they're taking an exam. We were also a bit annoyed that they didn't let us finish the game, when we were literally 2 minutes away from finishing, and there was no one waiting for us to use that room as we were the last booking for the night (usually other places will let you go over if they can see you're almost done), but I suppose because they're not watching you, they don't know. There were also a lot of 'time-wasters' in that room too. In general, it was just a badly designed room, but it's not worth going back to try the others...
