It was my mums 50th birthday and a month prior to it we went to Sir Braxton to ask them if they would be able to decorate a table for us so that we could come and dine in dinner. They told us that we could and that my mum could chose any of the colours she wanted to use as the decorations, so we told them black and gold and she paid $120 for that decoration to be done on her birthday. Skip forward to the day of her birthday, we come in half an hour early and get confused as we look around because there are no decoration in sight. We talked to the staff and they told us that since they were doing some renovations that they had sent their decoration away and did not have the colours my mum wanted. This made me, my sisters and her devastated because a 50th birthday is impotent and should be treated as such. They hadn’t had the thought to call and tell us that they didn’t have the decorations, they waited for us to come in on her birthday to tell us they had no decorations or balloons. The best they could do was some black plates and golden cutlery. We stayed afterwards and tried to have a good time but the night was ruined. At the end we still have to pay over the $120 for the food that went over, the only thing they did was discount 1 dessert item, this is revolting and unacceptable. This could’ve easily been avoided had they called and told us, but because they didn’t communicate and they weren’t organised this happened, and to be honest, completely ruined my mums special birthday dinner. And most of all my mum was completely understanding of the staff members there, as we all understood that this was the manager or bosses fault for telling us that we could ask for any colours that we wanted for the decorations. We were nothing but kind and polite to the staff because as a fast food worker i understand the stress of having a mistake made not being my fault. This is the entire mistake of the boss/manager and my mum or any of us would never try to yell or argue with the workers in which we absolutely did not. We had a conversation with the workers in which was civilised and they understood how upset we should be and completely agreed with us. So we place our disappointment with the owner/boss/manager of this establishment which should’ve let us know that they’re weren’t certain colours or that they had moved all the decoration away because of “renovations”. The staff took less than ten - fifteens mins to add some plates and cutlery to the table which was DEFINITELY NOT allowed to be called ‘decorating’ but it was all that they had. All this is the owners bad communication making this stress happen. The food was obviously amazing which was not the problem we had. So owner this is my reply to your lying response to my...
Read moreRecently ate here for a birthday treat after covid restrictions eased. Had high expectations as had heard great things about this venue. Was highly disappointed. The music playing in the venue was what one would expect at a nightclub - containing explicit lyrics - inappropriate for dining in what I would consider a “decadent” dessert place. Though the table service was ok considering it was one person running to the whole floor it was still a little slow - and we were misdirected in the serving sizes of the tapas. All but one of the tapas were the only enjoyable part of the night - we were really looking forward to our desserts! Belgium Waffle stacks. Sounded every bit appealing and with the price expected big things. Sadly this was the most disappointing part of our night. For all intents they looked amazing when first brought to the table.. however was quickly noted that some ingredients were just from a “can” not fresh made on site, and the Belgium waffles ...well couldn’t even find them initially .. we got three and they were not big at all.. nor were they edible! Couldn’t even get a knife through them.. the ice cream didn’t even make them go soggy ! The three giant scoops of ice cream ( which were supposed to be chocolate according to the menu I chose the Oreo stack for that reason; but were served as vanilla ) essentially were the only edible thing on the plate, which was hard to eat with just a fork especially when it melted quickly and the ice magic chocolate that was everywhere made it difficult to actually get anything off the plate. The waffles were hard, and stale ( almost like they’d been cooked some time ago, frozen, and reheated in a microwave) They were totally inedible. Never have I had a waffle that was so bad. When told about it and clearly seen left on our plate untouched.. they grudgingly offered and gave a 10% discount off the bill. A very small gesture after trying to make out the waffles always go soggy from the ice cream! We could have only hoped that they had gone soggy- if they had, I highly doubt we would have left them uneaten... it was in fact the opposite. For what we actually received a very very expensive bill. I might add that the waiter was the only one who offered an apology and was somewhat embarrassed observing that we had not eaten the waffles- which in his opinion are always eaten and raved about. We also observed patrons and staff not adhering to the social distance rules which also made us uncomfortable in the early lifting of restrictions, especially as it was made very clear when we booked there were strict rules we had to follow.
Very disappointed and Won’t ever...
Read moreIve been to this cafe before and it’s highly recommended by few friends of mine. I had been here with my family a few times around 3 years ago. Whenever we are in the area I always say I want to have that delicious mocha and dessert from sir braxton. We live towards Camden so to be in the area is rare and to remember sir Braxton, you would think that it must be amazing. Looking at your posts too it all looks delicious and staff are friendly and cool.
Today was the day we were in the area and I was craving that delicious coffee and dessert. We came in and ordered mocha, cappuccino, almond croissant and nuggets and chips. Two young female staff members were very rude. No greeting nor smile. My husband asked her what time does breakfast close, she blandly responded “it’s already finished for day”. And whilst I was ordering she was repeatedly yawning in my face. I asked for the coffees to be extra hot. The other female worker chucked the coffees to our table without a word and chucked the food on the table with no plates. She gave forks only. I asked her for knife and plates but she ignored. Then I went up to the area that had the plates and spoons as she was putting the spoons away. I asked for plates she asked me how many. I said I need four. She gave them to me very rudely on the table. The coffees were cold and the croissant was hard and stale. As a coffee and dessert lover, I was beyond disappointed to drink such expensive, bland and cold coffee. We couldn’t finish the croissant and I only finished my cold coffee as I had to pay a large price of $8 for it. My kids ate the nuggets and chips. Such a disappointment to see a yummy restaurant go downhill and rude staff that clearly do not want to be working. The restaurant and tables were dirty and the staff not in a hurry at all to clean. Standing around and walking to show that they are doing something. Won’t be coming back ever again and the reputation of sir Braxton has definitely deteriorated in my...
