IF YOU WANT A NICE KARAOKE EXPERIENCE, GO TO NOLZA KARAOKE NEXT DOOR!
I had a VERY upsetting experience with rude security and unprofessional staff.
I went to Sydney Karaoke on the 31st of May 2025 with some friends to celebrate my birthday, and I was really excited to try the place for the first time. Sadly, it ended up being one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.
I had a reservation for 9:00 PM, but I arrived very late, and I completely understand that was my fault. Still, I was happy to wait if needed and didn’t expect any special treatment. But instead of being treated with basic respect, we were met with a very rude and aggressive security guard (bald and short male on his mid 50’s).
When we asked where we should wait, he raised his voice at us multiple times, even though we were speaking calmly and just trying to understand what he wanted. He rushed us to hand over our ID documents, and when I politely asked him to wait a moment, he snapped, “I don’t have all night.”
What made it worse was the attitude of the staff inside. One of them said, right in front of us, “It’s okay, they’re leaving anyway – their reservation was for 9 PM,” like we were no longer important customers, and as if the guard’s behavior was totally fine. No one tried to help or calm the situation, they just acted like it was normal.
Towards the end of the interaction, because he was making me and my friends so uncomfortable, I asked for his name, and he replied, “I don’t need to tell you anything.” He then added, “I’m recording everything with my body camera,” as if that somehow justified how he was treating us. It was extremely rude and completely uncalled for.
This wasn’t even the first issue. A week earlier, a staff member called my phone number late in the evening asking if I was still coming because another staff member had booked my reservation under the wrong date, a whole week before my actual reservation. I let that go, thinking it was just a small mistake. But now, after this second experience, I can say the whole place feels absolutely unorganised and unprofessional.
After I left, I looked at other reviews and saw that many people had also complained about the same security guard. So it’s not just me and this is clearly a bigger problem they haven’t fixed.
I work in customer service, and I would NEVER treat someone this way. I left in tears, embarrassed for bringing my friends to a place that treated us like this. I won’t be coming back, and I really hope the management takes this seriously, because no one should be made to feel like that when going out...
Read moreWe spent $800 expecting a decent place for a family gathering, but what we got was a rundown venue and some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
The rooms were dingy and poorly maintained. On top of that, we couldn’t even access YouTube to queue up more music tracks because the WiFi “wasn’t working,” according to staff. So we were left with limited options, even though we were trying to enjoy the space as intended.
Our family was just singing casually and occasionally using tambourines that were provided by the venue. Despite this, security came in multiple times saying we were being too loud. We were confused because the group of drunk 20-somethings next door was much louder than us. We had grandparents and young kids in the room, some of them asleep.
When I politely asked if they had the wrong room, the security guard mentioned “the kids with tambourines.” But the kids weren’t even awake, and the tambourines weren’t being used at that point.
Why provide tambourines if they’re considered too loud and guests aren’t supposed to use them? It makes no sense.
Trying to clear things up, I went to speak with the woman at the front desk. I was calm and respectful, just looking for an explanation. Instead of helping, she literally put her hand in my face, waved me off, and refused to speak to me or my family members who also tried to ask what was going on.
I should have just left, but I wanted to understand what the issue was. Eventually, we gave up and left early. The security staff were actually respectful, but the front desk lady was incredibly rude and dismissive.
This was not a cheap place. We paid $800 and were treated like we didn’t matter. If she is the owner, she should not be dealing with the public. If not, the owners need to seriously look into how she is treating guests.
Avoid this place. We left feeling disrespected, unheard,...
Read moreI love the place… all my friends love going to this place for many years now. But not tonight, this happened twice already, first i let it go because i love the venue, tonight, the security guard is by far, the rudest, the arrogant, and the most impatient one. He doesn’t understand what is happening around him. Man, if you have issues people having fun, that nice the right place for you to work, just a friendly advice. Do not bring your personal or any of your problem at work because it won’t help you n any way. He thought we disrespected him because we are not showing our IDs, but we are trying to open our app and unfortunately it is not working, but he end up not letting us in and enjoy our night. As simple as that, because he felt a certain way. THAT IS SO UNFAIR!!! I think it’s discrimination as well because i feel uncomfortable as well with him just staring at me and he talks very condescending and arrogant! What I didn’t like as well, that the people working there, agreed on the security’s side. Well, not our loss. Hopefully, this will not happen to anyone, and if does, leave a review, definitely, they need it! For you, the security guard, watch on youtube or undergo training on how to treat people. Respect begets respect, ALWAYS...
