Tako Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

I am really not one to publicly shame a business, I would rarely do this on google reviews. But after tonight’s experience. I ordered my meal through Menulog, I received confirmation of the order going through and the estimated timeframe of the order being 7:43pm. I had ordered my meal at 6:42pm. It came to 8:00pm still nothing, so I check the Menulog app and it says my order had been delivered I go downstairs to check my front part of my unit complex and nothing is there, so I ring the restaurant twice. First attempt no answer rings out, so I ring again & success a girl picks up and basically tells me they are really busy and she will need to see if my order has left she goes and checks and says yes it’s left, should be there in another 10-15 minutes. I tell her this isn’t acceptable as it’s now going to be 30 minutes late if my food is cold I will be making a complaint considering I ordered 1 hour and 30 minutes ago, she basically said no worries. The driver comes at 8:11pm and says sorry I have had your meal for 20 minutes and I was told you had asked about it so I have come right away. Ah sorry what? You have had my order for 20 minutes. This restaurant is disgusting, customer service doesn’t exist, when your food is cold forget about complaining because that also doesn’t mean anything to them. Not worth the money! You being a small business, I would think you would want to make sure you keep your customers happy and you keep them loyal. Being in this type of environment as well you would want to make sure you do everything you can to build more customer base and provide great quality food a servicr. This place doesn’t deliver. The delivery driver gave our food away to someone else...don’t order from here unless you want to give someone a free meal. We ordered takeaway through Uber Eats and waited over an hour. That’s fine but when the delivery driver buzzed up to the apartment, he didn’t come up for 20 min. We even went up and down a couple of times to check that he didn’t get lost. Wondering what happened, we tried calling the restaurant multiple times, and it was always busy. When we finally got through, they said our order had been delivered. We asked them to call the driver to find out what happened because he obviously had NOT delivered it. They said they would call us back. They never did. We kept calling for updates, and eventually they said that the driver gave it away to someone who had come down, even though we told them to come up to the apartment, and it was in the instructions. They asked us to cancel the order through Uber Eats because they didn’t want to cancel it on their end as it would be bad for their record. We couldn’t even cancel because the restaurant had flagged our order as delivered when the driver said he had. They wouldn’t speak to Uber Eats or take responsibility. We then had to speak to someone on Uber Eats to get them to cancel and refund us. What a terrible experience that took too much time and caused unnecessary stress and frustration. I don’t know who gives reviews out there but can you at least be honest if these guys are really Japanese they would have to be one of the worst in Kogarah the vegetable Tempura was soooo oily and chicken kasu don where is it? There was nothing in the little container. What happened to the round bowls that we used to get the rice in at least a full bowl of rice which was fluffy got stuck together and four strips of chicken The chicken was so thin I didn’t even know it was chicken and mayonnaise for veg tempura was a dab only I added my own mayo on the side, I ordered takeaway yeah okay I know but $18.80 for a chicken kasu don square container made me think why do I get take away for it was not Quality because there is no quantity to make up for it and the soggy vegetable temp that cost me $9.80 for what your paying for. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news tako but I have not yet to find a Japanese restaurant in Kogarah that can blow yours and my mind away even if it is takeaway. I mean seriously square brown container it barely see chicken arhhhh what happened to the good days where you get the nice big black bowl and the chicken strips on top that were crunchy, not soggy and an egg and rice.
