Tea Republic Cabramatta — Restaurant in Sydney

Tea republic used to be my go-to bubble tea spot when they first opened; I was a regular customer and loved the quality. However, since they changed staff, the experience has gone downhill. The tea now tastes watered-down, with minimal flavour due to their stingy use of tea leaves, even with standard ice. Unfortunately, they’ve also raised prices despite the noticeable drop in quality.

Over the past few months, every drink I've ordered has been disappointing, with inconsistency in flavours and are constantly changing menu. They even replaced my favourite, Orchid Blossom, with a much blander option. I once politely mentioned to a staff member that my previous drink was watery and requested a stronger flavour, but they responded with an eye-roll and didn’t make any adjustments. This hasn't happened once, it happened multiple times. I'm not the only one who thinks their drinks are watery, there are already so many reviews saying the exact same thing!

I have been a long time buyer since they first opened and before they rebranded however, the last three times I have bought from here I have noticed the tea flavour is not as prominent as before in the past. Not only did the price increase recently but the quality has gone down a lot. At first I thought it was just a one off thing however, the past three times I have visited and ordered, it has tasted really watery as opposed to the usual strong tea flavour. I’m not sure if they are using less tea leaves thus resulting in a weaker brew, or if they have recently changed management as there are a lot of new faces I haven’t seen before. I have also noticed the store has been a little bit more unkempt recently with obvious spill stains on the marble counter that haven’t been cleaned properly, plants that need to be trimmed and a very sticky floor (you can feel your shoes sticking when you walk inside). I am very disappointed as a longtime customer and hope they fix these issues soon as it is really upsetting to see one of my favourite tea places in the area...

I had the pleasure of visiting Tea Republic, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The selection of teas is vast, with everything from classic blends to unique, expertly crafted infusions. I especially love the fact that they offer both hot and iced options, making it easy to enjoy a refreshing tea no matter the weather. Plus, they have beautiful teapots, accessories, and gift sets that make for a wonderful treat or gift.
