Food okay, Management poor

We had a voucher for two people. $54.00 for a 3 course meal… the equivalent of $115.00 (the voucher stated 3 course meal with a platter of sides)

We brought along an extra 3 people, which you would assume the restaurant would appreciate.

Service was slow and the owner or manager left the premises midway through our meal. Leaving the chef and waitress to run the place.

To be fair the food was okay, . Two of the five mains were cold. The dessert… a let down. An ice cream on a stick, the type you buy in bulk from $2.00 stores

Service: 2/10 Food: 6/10

The bill arrived $195.00 less $54.00 for the voucher. So basically the voucher was pointless. It represented zero value When trying to explain this to the waiter, that we should be getting a better deal, she just could not understand.

I was not expecting much, only another $10.00 - $15.00 off the bill. To avoid an argument, we ended up settling the bill

A guest visiting Sydney insisted on paying. She accidentally overpaid $42.00 with her credit card. This is where I was dumbfounded. Because the transaction had been processed, the waitress said she was unable to refund the $42.00.

Very simple, I suggested to her to refund the full amount electronically and I would pay the bill in cash. I was informed that this was not possible.

I told them to just refund me $40.00 in cash. Again she refused and proceeded to call the owner.

In disbelief, the owner refused either option, and we were told to return the next day to sort it out. I could not believe what was happening

I stood my ground and after the poor waitress made numerous calls to the owner, they eventually refunded me $40.00

This took over 15 minutes to resolve

P.S. RESPONSE to owner’s response I never EVER expected the voucher to cover the other 3 diners. I was charged for everything I ordered and $54.00 was deducted off the bill, the same amount I paid for the voucher MAKING THE VOUCHER USELESS. BTW also never...

Very disappointed on both services and food.

Ordering from them on Menulog for the first time and provided additional information of the delivery address upon checkout. My address is on Street A but the entrance of the building is on Street B, I have never had issue with any other delivery place.

20 mins after the expected delivery time, I received a call from the driver, who appears to have issue understanding English. I explained and provided instruction to him twice on how to get to my place from where he was, he said ok. 10 mins later, no call or anything from the driver, I called him back and he said he couldn't find it, provided him another instruction session. 15 more mins passed, I got quite upset and called the restaurant, apparently the driver has returned as he could not find my place. The person who answered the call asked for instruction again which I given and I was promised they would recook the food and re-deliver.

Little over 5 mins after hanging up, got a call from the same driver asking for instruction AGAIN. I confirmed with him that the food was fresh as promised cuz I wasn't convinced the food was fresh provided how quick it was. He confirmed the food was fresh and 20 mins later I got another call saying he was outside my door, apparently he went to the wrong place again.

Anyway, an hour later (2 hours after ordering) I finally got the food, it feels hot-ish to the touch so I didn't think much. However once I open everything up they are lukewarm and the texture of the food suggest they simply reheat it with microwave and there was next to none flavour.

Would never order...

Worst dining experience ever!! My fiance and I bought a Groupon voucher for The Clove and were looking forward to trying it. (yes, we had a deal but we still had to pay for the voucher and it wasn't a cheap one!). We went there last night and the service was absolutely appalling. The staff were extremely arrogant and rude. I read the terms & conditions of the voucher before purchasing it and it mentioned no exclusions. We could have any 3 entrees, 2 mains & 2 desserts. We looked at the menu, chose the 3 entrees we wanted and went to order, at which time we were told that they were busy and had lots of people coming (which didnt end up to be true at all) and so we had to have the 3 entrees that they were cooking - which were not what we wanted to order. We then chose our 2 mains, again the waiter mentioned a few exclusions (luckily we could get our choices for this). My fiance asked for his to be extra hot, but it was served quite mild. Then came dessert. They asked if we would like some, we said yes and they just came and gave us some random dessert. We didnt get to look at the menu and choose we were just given something we didnt want (again). Definitely wont be...

*THIS RESTAURANT IS BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE* We ate as a group of 5 early in a Friday evening, there were plenty of tables available. Food quality was good, with some room for improvement but by no means bad Gluten free Naan breads impressed, Onion Bahjis were mid. Rogan Josh was the standout dish. Our party also tried the butter chicken which they gave a 3.5/5 - good but not world beating. If you’re looking for a good Indian in Coogee this is the spot to go. Staff were not as attentive as they could have been, didn’t do a a check back and left us with empty drinks - could improve here!

I wouldn’t even give one star if I could. They advertise both in their restaurant and on uber eats that their vegetable curries are both vegan and vegetarian. They reassured me twice that my vegetable korma was ‘vegan’ however I knew that paneer had been added. When I asked them again and told them I had paneer in the korma, they said “ No. Paneer isn’t vegan. It has milk”. They have done this before but decided to give them another chance and they have done the same again. It’s false advertisement and I’m going to be reporting this further.
