Very disappointing. I was so excited to see a new restaurant taking the place of the old Coogee Bites. When I got there at 12.15pm they were only serving a Brazilian menu with no breakfast options. Really, in this area they need to have at least some breakfast item available. I was given a menu then no one came back to take my order. A group of staff were chatting with friends and taking no notice of the customers. Eventually I got up to order. A group of 6 guys received their orders and three of them were wrong. While this was happening 3 groups sat down, a party of 6, a party of four and a couple. They all got up and left after seeing the menu. No staff enquired why they left. I’m sure it was the menu. After waiting 30 minutes I eventually got my burger. It was overcooked (dry) and the chips were cold. To be fair, this place has only been open a couple of weeks. The staff were very inexperienced. This cafe is in an amazing location but the menu is just wrong. I hope they analyse their business and seek feedback from their customers. They’ve fitted out the restaurant well along with lovely new chairs & tables. I’m going to wait a few weeks and go back to give it another try. I hope they...
Read moreWe were looking forward to trying the cafe that replaced Coogee Bites, one of our regular favourites. There were 4 of us - 2 ordered steak sandwiches and 2 ordered nachos. The steak sandwiches were about 80% sandwich (roll) and 20% filling. Not good enough for a more than $ 20 steak sandwich. The nachos were similar - about 75% corn chips with mostly sour cream and other "fillings" rather than the delicious sounding slow cooked beef and beans as described on the menu.
Most unfortunately, within 10 minutes of leaving, the people who had the nachos started to feel ill (one of them was me). As I'm writing this, I've just come back from throwing up. Not sure what it was, it was only the people who had the nachos that were unwell.
I was hoping for an upgrade to our favourite Coogee cafe. Guess we won't...
Read moreI recently visited this café and had a lovely experience. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and definitely hit the spot — a great mix of flavours and quality ingredients. But the real standout for me was the coffee — rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection. You can tell they take their coffee seriously, and it truly was the star of the visit.
The vibe of the place is warm and welcoming, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to — whether it’s for a meal or just to grab another one of those...
