My family loves The Grumpy Baker's pies, borek and laminations! We usually get the the Sourdough wholemeal bread which is great but last week I decided to try the olive and garlic bread. It was inedible and we ended up putting it in the trash! There was hardly any olives, only tiny specs and the rest of the bread was chock full of garlic The garlic I think was roasted but the flavour was extremely intense. See the photo and how many pieces of garlic I pulled from one slice, way too many cloves of garlic! The bread reeked of revolting tasting garlic, it was the most horrendous bread I have ever tasted! Do not buy!

Perched higher on beach st, further away from the main beach strip, it’s a great coastal walk pitstop — slight detour in land- but still with a beautiful view! There are two Bourekas ($7.50) — cheese & spinach and potato — were piping hot from the oven around 11am and the chunky beef & lamb pies ($9.50) are well packed. The croissant ($5) has a slightly more yeasty, sweet vibe, still slightly flakey. Bit on the pricier side (?), but I guess it’s on the up recently.

If you love oz coffees and fresh bakeries, it is the best option. I have tried flat white coffee with the orange cake, better than black star cake tbh. Sorry couldn’t take photos before consuming everything 😭. If they just add some arts on the top of the coffee that would help alot although the coffee is amazing

I am a regular on weekends and usually love coming here. Terrible experience this morning. 8 months pregnant holding a toddler and waited in a massive queue (fine, understand it’s a busy day) only to get to the front and be made to wait for 5 mins. I asked politely to be served after waiting quite patiently, and the man who was out the back unstacking the dishes washer, checking his phone and putting banana bread in the toaster said sorry I have orders I need to prepare. He then proceeded to put croissants off a baking tray into the shelves. I waited approx another 5 mins struggling in the heat and holding a tantruming toddler until he asked the barista to serve me. She was lovely. But this man had no regard for my state, and that I needed to sit down with a drink and some food quite quickly. My family and I sadly won’t be back because of...

I'm a client coming every Friday around 9:30am to buy a challah and a boule sordough. Quality is usually excellent for both. Recently quality changed especialy the service with young women who don't care at all. It was the second time this morning that I came for nothing because the challah were not even in the oven and would be ready only 2 hours later. I had to buy croissant and pain au chocolat for me and my daughter instead and let me tell you that it was bad. $4 for a tiny mini pain au choclat and $5 for a dry, greasy and tasteless croissant. The only good thing was the bread boule which is always good. I think the usual baker wasn't here today so that a possible reason for that. Anyway not sure to come back anymore because quality of food and service is going down hard. $27 for...

Second time going to grumpy baker

First experience almond croissant was one of the worst most dried things I have ever eaten I didn’t finish it at all. Service was pretty meh as well. But fantastic location

I was around here for work and thought I would give another go. Beef sausage roll $9 very expensive but I dont mind paying for good food. The filling was fairly dry although had nice flavour wich turned into a very overwhelming flavour at the end. The pastry was nice could have been a bit more crispy. And no toilet facility when asked.

Overall would not go back here to any of your establishments unfortunately not...
