Lovely spot for early evening and sunset, especially from the top outdoor area. Lovely sea views of you get a good seat. Nice drinks selection and the food was excellent. The table waiting staff were friendly/smily. However, as happened previously, during our meal, a member of staff wanted to take down our sunshade parasol. It was still hot and sunny. Previously we declined but the guy insisted and literally climbed to kneel on our table, next to our food and drink, and reached over us in order to pull down the shade. This was despite our objections. All the bits of sand, dust, tree fall, bird droppings etc etc which had gathered on the parasol during the day dropped down into our drinks, food etc. And the staff just shrugged! This second time we were approached, again sun out, food just about to be delivered, maybe 5pm time. I refused as our food was about to arrive. 20mins later, same guy reappeared saying his manager had told him to take it down "for cameras". This time I refused again, as I didn't want the same bad experience as before. 10 mins later, just as we were finishing, a different man was sent, and just literally removed the parasol infront of us. Luckily we'd finished eating. I asked to speak to his manager but no one came forward. I informed him, this was very very poor customer service. The reason was "cameras and security"....yet these still exist all afternoon, so what happens early evening that's different. They should consider either not having any parasols full stop, or have a policy of only taking them down on an empty table. For these reasons, I...

I had a deeply upsetting experience at Coogee Pavilion recently. My group, which included five girls and one boy, was denied entry for no valid reason. The boy in question is slightly autistic, but he was not intoxicated, he adhered to the dress code, and his appearance was neat and clean. Despite this, security refused to let him in, without providing a clear or valid explanation. When I asked for clarification, the security staff were unhelpful and even rude in their responses.

This situation is incredibly concerning, not just for the lack of transparency, but also for the apparent discriminatory nature of the decision. It’s beyond me why he was singled out without a reasonable explanation. We are all locals and, as far as I can tell, treated unfairly. It’s disheartening to see how such power is wielded with no accountability.

This experience will not go unnoticed. I intend to raise awareness about this through all my social media platforms, as I believe no one should be subjected to such unfair treatment, especially in an environment that should be inclusive. Coogee Pavilion has a responsibility to ensure all guests are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of any differences. I plan to continuously spread awareness through for as long as this...

We visited the rooftop late afternoon for food and sundowners. The overall experience was great. No issue with the food or service and the DJ played an array of great dance tunes. Later in the evening we noticed one security guard, what appeared to us, to be pestering females on the dance floor. Later, a couple of those females approached us to dance and chat. We had a dance and a laugh, then we all moved on. As I came out of the bathroom, I was taken to the side by a manager and was told that a couple of girls had complained about us, and was asked to leave certain girls alone otherwise we would be kicked out. Didn't take much to figure out what was going on. We told our side to this manager, and he listened as if this wasn't the first time this had happened. The remainder of the night we were literally surrounded by all the guards, intimidating us by saying things like "just watch out who you talk to". Not the experience we wanted to leave this establishment with. Reading other reviews, no wonder the manager wasn't surprised by our version...

A hep place with a Miami vibe, overlooking the Coogee beach. B-road staircase, ample parking outside. Indoors and outdoor seatings( we preferred outside to enjoy the beach view better). As everywhere else, self serve- their bar code menu not taking orders at the moment so we walked up to the bar indoors and placed hummus pita n drinks’ order. Please know that the Lebanese bread is four large round breads for 4$ but hummus at 12$ is insufficient. Not too great to taste though. They have fries etc. too on the menu for vegetarians besides wider options for the meat/ sea food lovers. Good music on outdoor speakers, many big pant pots add to the decor. Nice cocktails. Washrooms for men and women are not close together however on the same floor. The menu here is different from the restaurant on the ground floor ( more food oriented here) and their kitchen closes at 9 pm. Rooftop opens mainly for drinks and till late. Recommend the place more for its vibe n drinks not as much for great side dishes.

Great location. Thought we would kick off my birthday treat week with a large sushi platter. Disappointed it only fed one person instead of two. Paying the equivalent for a sushi platter to share in Melbourne would have been more than ample for two. Not satiated in the least. Plus we opted to sit at the window bench which meant table service wasn’t an option for us. We had to place our own order at the bar. Such an odd and random rule especially when there were so many staff on the floor. The breeze sitting in the front window was lovely though so well worth the effort to place our own order at the bar to enjoy the view of the world passing by. And the view across the road is one of the most spectacular in Australia.
