We have been regulars at this café for a long time and have always enjoyed the friendly service and beautiful location on the pier. The owner was always welcoming, but we’re not sure if ownership has changed recently.
Our most recent visit was disappointing. While we understand that the café closes at 3 pm on weekends, the way we were rushed out felt unnecessary and rude. We had finished lunch and were enjoying our coffee at around 2:45 while staff was packing up. Staff reassured us that we were fine to stay and enjoy our coffee, but just two minutes later, someone abruptly changed their approach and made it clear we had to leave. We felt like we were being kicked out—staff literally started taking the chairs from under us while we were still sitting. One of them even took a chair with my handbag on it—I barely managed to grab it before it could hit the floor.
We completely respect closing times, but it felt like the staff wanted to be out the door by 3 rather than closing at 3. If that’s the case, perhaps the listed closing time should be adjusted to reflect this. Unfortunately, after this experience, we won’t be...
Read moreWe decided to stop by here on a whim, just thinking it would be nice to have a coffee by the seaside – but wow, we were blown away! The quality of the coffee and food is truly on another level compared to our usual spots. They serve classic brunch favorites like eggs benedict with smoked salmon and spinatch, but with a unique twist. Instead of sourdough, their eggs benedict is served on a potato croquette, and it’s incredible!
The brunch plate came with a beetroot chutney that was unbelievably good; the sauces here are something special. And let’s not forget the coffee – it’s so good we’d come back just for that. We couldn’t leave without saying a personal thank you to the team; turns out, there are two talented Thai women chefs and an amazing barista who truly make this place shine. You guys are fantastic!
We’ll definitely be back on a quiet weekday to enjoy the seaside with more amazing coffee and brunch (knowing weekends are...
Read moreRead moreAbsolutely appalling service, from unwelcoming wait staff to the defensive and rude manager. Food was mediocre at best (eg poached egg like hard boiled egg). One item came without the toast, to which wait staff said that item doesn’t come with toast (in view of manager). Paid extra to manager for toast. Then we saw the menu on way out that says the item should come with sourdough. Explained this to manager who became very argumentative, no apology, had to explain multiple times the situation to get a refund for the toast. Overall an expensive place ($70 for brekky for 2), beautiful view but food just isn’t worth it. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend due to staff alone. Bring a picnic to Beare park and...
