"If I see another heirloom tomato I'm gonna scream!" Annette Benning spewed forth in 2010's "the kids are alright. You get right? Always the same thing on every menu. As a former avo toast peddler, I get it. Cafes have to tickle the neural pathways you've developed. If its all kombu congee, the place might be as empty as Craig Kelly's book of thoroughly researched opinions. So it is next door at brunch and Co. My mate asked me why I chose this place and not brunch and co, next door. My reply spoke of barista moves, coffee machines (though I've had the pleasure of great machines and beans and coffee that 43 beans could beat) and other made up crap I use to look like I know something others don't. But actually it was just that brunch and co was a pretentious name and the menu covered more hits than a bjorn again gig (recommended). So this place has truly original choices with familiar feels. Very well made coffee of decent (not fab) beans. Service as young and friendly as a kindy teacher. The cauliflower salad was better than the rice-dominated "broccoli salad", but it was still as tasty as required. The cauliflower salad was excellent...complex in flavour and texture, without losing its way. Good place to break free of your...

Below average food, a bit overpriced. We ordered: Reuben sandwich - not good. No sauerkraut just cabbage. Doesn’t taste balanced.

Double decker burger - disappointing, the patties are lukewarm and dry - reheated not freshly grilled. The waitress said the onions will be pickled (as we don’t like raw onion), the onions were very much raw.

Pulled pork tacos - average, a bit salty and not balanced flavour. It was ordered for our child. No where on the detailed menu said that this one contains chilli or will be spicy, but was made with jalapeño and hot sauce, too much for a child or anyone who can’t handle the heat.

Mango smoothie- bland and small serving, disappointed again.

Finally check out their price for sift drink: They charge more for Coke Zero than Coke! There is something morally objectionable about this practice.

Good parts? The chips are good and the service is friendly and very quick. The atmosphere is pleasant too. But none if that matters if the food is...

A hidden gem in Alexandria! Mitchell Road Cafe is an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed coffee break or catch-up with friends. The coffee is consistently top-notch — smooth, rich, and made with care.

The food is fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, with great portion sizes and quality ingredients. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. Service is prompt and professional, and the overall vibe is calm and inviting. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this cafe is definitely worth a visit. Highly...

After visiting this amazing cafe, I started believing that we can have both of the world. The western food served with a twist of Asian touch brings the whole dish to an unbelievable level that you could ever imagine. The cafe offers not only the quality fresh food, but also presents you with their creation of flavour and taste. On top of that, all the food and drink comes with affordable price, nothing is over $20. If you want to experience what 'value for money' dining is, this is the one can’t be missed.
