Well it wasn’t really 1 stars more like half. There was no Sushi in the menu! Only take away sushi in plastic containers .And only one sashimi :salmon .The crab cream croquet I had was so small it was one quarter bite for each .Pathetically small with no crab flavour and no crab pieces I could taste.Obviously riding on the wave of healthy traditional Japanese cuisine they didn’t even know the reply to arignato, replying with arignato instead of Toi ta shi mashte. I don’t like non Japanese appropriating the word sushi and then having only one seafood . As well the name sushi Jones implies some relationship with the well established 40 year’s ongoing clothes store Yoshi Jones in Newton,Sydney. Basic hygiene disregarded :When the waiter gave me the soya sauce bowl with his thumb in it I took it back and gave it to the managaress.I told her about the thumb in the little bowl.No apology and no rebrobation to the waiter who will probably do it again . This shop is for beginners in the Japanese cuisine so don’t make up your mind up about their cooking from this shop .Disappointed is being very generous with them .Some people say if you have nothing good to say then say nothing .What are reviews for then? I also scrolled through the reviews ,270 something and noticed only one Japanese name. That would say it all. Also 4 days have gone by and no apologies...

Street parking had always been pain in this neighbourhood, which is one of the reasons I had not been eating at Sushi Jones for a while. Recently I have been told that if I spend min A$30 would qualify for 2 hours free parking at the nearby Woolworth car park. I only need to press the button to talk to parking assistant for him to validate my free parking, on my way out. Gladly I had lunch at Sushi Jones today. Surprise! When I drove out of Woolworth car park, the off site parking assistant told me that he can’t validate my parking because he had NEVER HEARD OF Sushi Jones. Please work out whatever problem between Sushi Jones and Woolworth car park and let me know. During the time, I would stay away, because I don’t want to become a liar & a thief, just because I ate at Sushi Jones!!! Jun 9 2025 * We WERE crazy about their tasty juicy yakitori, best we had outside of Japan. Now it had become dry and chewy. And their Chawanmushi (off menu, gotta order up front when you make reservation). Last time, it tasted fishy = the fish used is NOT fresh. We have NEVER order these 2 dishes ever again & stay with safer bet eg vegi and curry. Oct 23 2025 Takitori seems better than last time but not as good as when it first added...

Me and my wife gave this place a try because of their vegan options, especially when they have vegan soup base option for their ramen.

It was Saturday night and the temperature are quite cold so we sat indoor, this place isn't big but enough to accommodate a couple of families, with more tables outdoor.

We were greeted with a friendly smile as soon as we arrived and their staff were extremely patient with us while we go through my wife's special dietary requirements (vegan and allergy).

If all possible, I would have given them 6 stars for customer service.

Every table had soy source, spices, cutlery including forks, spoons and chopsticks, which I considered it a nice touch.

We were given the menu, along with water jar and glasses. And more than ample time to make our decisions.

While waiting for the meal to arrive, one of the waitress brought us a sample size complimentary spinach salad, although it wasn't suitable for vegan, it is still delicious.

All the dishes arrived beautifully set on their plates, ingredients are fresh and their special sauces compliments the food perfectly.

This is now my new favourite...

Rare Authentic Japanese Dining Experience Sushi Jones is one of those out of the ordinary Japanese restaurants in Sydney - Alexandria that is worth the experience. Firstly, it is run by Japanese people and this is reflected in the aesthetic, style and vibe of the restaurant. It is not flashy but there is care in the service, decor, and authentic Japanese dishes on which the food is served. The food itself is also simple but beautifully done with authentic tastes and flavours. What's excellent for my family and I is that there's multiple vegetarian and vegan options. Everything we had was wonderful, fresh, beautifully presented and very delicious. I was most surprised at the price. It is really reasonable. Most of the mains we had were around $18 and all the sushi etc was reasonably priced without compromising on the quality. If you're in the area, and are seeking real Japanese, don't miss Sushi Jones! P.S. The Yuzu Honey Lemon Tea was other worldly.
