The Good = Patricia the barista is so helpful and smiling and her coffee is consistently good. The food also was spectacular. The croissant, the bacon and egg roll (that bread is so soft) and the savoury waffles, all delicious. The Bad = We have American guests staying with us, they like a flat white but also need it a little sweeter so we recommended getting a shot of vanilla, we have been coming daily to get coffees and 1st time fine, they loved it. 2nd time we’re told they don’t do that here and our server had to be told twice by her fellow staff and three times by us that you do actually do it here. 3rd time we’re flat out told by James they don’t want to do that here. It was upsetting. We just sat down for breakfast. I asked James again are you going to make the coffee for him and he said he didn’t want to. I asked if we should go somewhere else and he said that was a bit extreme. I think your behaviour is extreme. Charge me an extra 50c and pour it in. I can see the bottle from here. He eventually agreed to make it but it soured the morning. The only answer they would give is “we don’t want to make a habit of doing it here”

We just moved into Maroubra, this is our closest cafe. We have been trying all the different cafes in the hopes of finding a new local but I will gladly walk past you in the future and give my money to any of the other 3 cafes in the street before coming in here again. Actually I’ll walk 10 minutes up the road to the jam packed pool cafe and wait in line for their awesome food and coffee because at least it comes with friendly service. Drop the attitude James and pick up some customer...

Disappointing experience. New owners since 01.07.24 & a change of menu. I ordered the bacon and egg roll for brunch, which came with add ons such as cheese, tomato, harissa etc. The service was slow and despite the cafe not being too busy, our food took a very long time to arrive and when it did, our orders were either mixed up with other tables, or incorrect. I had to ask for another bacon & egg roll with a change of sauce and a well cooked egg. Instead of simply taking my meal back to the chef, it was left up to me to speak to the chef directly, who then directed me back to the waitress to wait in line to put my order through again. This took an additional 10 mins. Again, my order took forever to arrive, and when it did, there was the same issue but with all the extras missing too. Everyone at our table had finished eating. When I enquired about this with the waitress, she took my brekki away and offered to remove it from the bill. I expected my correct order to be served again but instead received nothing! When paying for the bill, I confirmed with the waitress that I would not be charged. She assured me it had been removed. Our bill was paid, a receipt was requested which she was unwilling to provide. When it was printed off, lo & behold…the cost of my breakfast had not been removed at all. No apology was given and another waitress had to step in to issue the refund. I left the cafe ‘hangry’. I won’t...

I had the eggs Benedict which was poached eggs served on n hash browns with bacon. The top part was delicious and their hollandaise sauce was awesome but it was served on top of spinach which had balsamic dressing on it! Balsamic dressing and hollandaise sauce does not mesh well together. Why??? The dressing soaked into the hash browns. The bacon was nice and crispy but with balsamic dressing soaked into it, it tasted weird. The coffee was luke warm and tasted like it was made with UHT milk. The spinach ended up covered in balsamic dressing, egg yolk and hollandaise sauce and it was inedible. Without the balsamic dressing, this would have been a delicious meal.

The food was very disappointing. I was not even offered any sugar for the coffee or salt and pepper for the meal.

The service was decent enough, the staff were friendly and it's in a great spot just up from Maroubra beach. They have indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor seating is in the gutter.

Parking is street parking which is usually full so it's best to use Maroubra beach public transport.

They also charge a surcharge if you pay by card.

Never in my life has it ever crossed my mind to do the runner from a cafe without...

Loved our brunch at The North End Cafe. Just a block away from the beach, it's got great coffee, laid-back and inviting vibe. Here you don't have to queue up and be packed like sardines at the cafes next to Marine Parade :) Coffee: Spot on! I usually order a long black to really taste the full-bodied bold flavour. Very smooth. Food: The menu is quite extensive, choke-full with usual Aussie brunch options and exciting Moroccan flair. With all day breakfast and lunch served, it was hard to choose. We ordered avo smash and Harissa scrambled eggs (exchanged the toast for greens). Food arrived in quick, was top notch, loved the spicy kick on scrambled eggs. Service: Brilliant. We were taken care of by Jordy. Absolute gem, accommodated unusual requests and made a cracking coffee. Atmosphere: Cruisy neighbourhood vibes. Spacious place, nice decor, families chilling out with their little ones and four legged friends Sunday morning. The owner chatted with us, friendly bloke. We'll definitely be back.

The coffee is ok but the overall experience is quite disappointing. We were told it's the previous chef of the Lion and Baffulo's new place so we thoguht it must be good. 1. The ramen tastes wired, especially the chashu, it defs not chashu its just fried pork slice. The texture of noodle and soup were also not pleasant. 2. There is no service. It's more like a kiosk as no table service. And the waitress seems sleepy and took the wrong food to us twice. Anyway, wont come back. 3. The waiting time is super long. It was not busy at all as only 4 tables were taken, but the coffee was ready after 15mins and food took us more than 30mins.
