Marini Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

I went with my friend for a light lunch on australia day (after not seeing her since she went on her honeymoon) as it was one of the only places open. we requested an outdoor table because we saw there was one free and yet they seated inside in the hot room. they were not overly busy, but not empty either. we ordered a simple caesar salad, chicken wrap, banana smoothie and açai smoothie. the waitress was rude and didn’t pay much attention to us, meaning that we had to repeat our orders multiple times. we waited for the food for almost an hour before we asked the waitress about our food. she acted like we were an annoyance even though we were just checking on the progress of our meals! she said that the meals were coming and that we needed to “be patient”! I politely told her that we had been waiting for an obscene amount of time and she rolled her eyes at me! she then left and we waited for another half an hour! finally they brought out my caesar salad and my friends açai smoothie. the waitress went back into the kitchen to get the rest of our food, my friend and i presumed. however she then came out and served another table! my friend went over to her and asked about the other meals to which she replied they were on the way. my friend insisted that i start my meal and by the time i had finished her food was still not there. when they finally brought it out it was cold and soggy and my banana smoothie smelt like rotten milk! 🤢 when i complained about it the waitress laughed it off and acted as if i was joking! we finished our food, struggling to even choke it down and, regretfully, paid full price. my friend and i both got food poisoning and have were stuck in bed for a few days. i will definitely not come back here. (i can also say that we were not he only dissatisfied customers as other people who were there at the same time also...

Started off great, they helped move the outdoor umbrellas around so that our group could be comfortable and we were all quite happy. We ordered our food, and after a strangely long wait 5 out of the 6 meals we ordered came out. When the fifth meal came out we double-checked with the waitress to see if one more was coming and she said yes.

After a long wait, another waitress came up to us to see why no one had started eating (we were waiting out of politness), and we told her that we were waiting for our 6th meal; she then went to find it. After another long wait, we went inside to ask of the progress (we were being very polite as I work in hospitality and understand that these things happen); we were met with an half-hearted apology and the waitress was behaving as if we were annoying her, by simply checking on our own meal that they forgot and then took a ridiculous amount of time to prepare. Next, the waitress "solved" the problem by grabbing the nearest meal that was coming out of the kitchen, that looked similar to the chicken caesar salad wrap we were waiting for.

In the end, we didn't get to finish due to our own personal time limits. The management offered no form of recompense or anything and was vaguely apologetic. Finally, every. Single. Person. at our table got food poisoning! That is ridiculous. All our meals had different ingredients, and we all became sick, this indicates that the entirety of their ingredient stock was rancid or that the cook's were ill and yet still at work, spreading their sickness. I personally have had food poisoning for three days now and that is simply ridiculous. The staff were extremely unprofessional, the food was rancid, and the management didn't seem to care about us at all. We regretfully paid in-full for everything. This establishment should be embarrassed for the way in which they...

DONT BE FOOLED THAT ITS BUSY. I assume the only reason people come here is because it looks out to the beach. First tired it a few weeks ago, came here before for just avocado on toast and a bacon and egg breakfast. The food was impressively bad. I genuinely couldn’t make something worse at home. I thought maybe the specific meal we ordered were a miss / we were having bad luck with the restaurant that day as there’s always people lined up and crowded in here - so we tried it again a few weeks later. Probably even worse the next time. Both orders were wrong which happens. But the pancakes were so bad. They were like a solid dry lump of cake (nothing like any other pancake I’ve had before). Found 2 hairs cooked within and on the food that weren’t mine. Was so grossed out by the end didn’t even want to finish half of anything . The flies made it even worse. Will say - Coffee came out quick and was fine. Genuinely believe all the good reviews are their own staff making multiple google accounts and giving positive feedback 😅. Don’t come here, go next door to the chalk cafe - wins...
