Picture, if you can, a tropical paradise full of good vibes and wonderful food.

The fresh smells of cooked chicken, roasted coffee beans and runny eggs have continually poured out into the bay of Maroubra from this little cafe.

Snatching your busy feet away from the street and pulling your stomach into the coffee shop, you’ll be greeted with the most kind and respectful staff you’ll ever meet. They’ll remember your face off of only your first visit and quickly learn any intricate order you may have, not to mention it will be perfectly prepared for you each visit buy the talented chefs working hard in the back. The staff also without doubt know their stuff, bouncing from taking orders, to making coffee, to preparing and cook delicious meals, theirs no doubt the workers love their jobs and when they do they bring that love to the customers.

Coffee here is akin to sipping straight from the fountain of youth. It’s clear the baristas must be mixing with the dark arts, because you’ll quickly become infatuated and addicted only to their brew. Quality is the name of their game and speed is the same.

On the topic of food, to be simple, you won’t find another place that keeps their menu so full of fantastic food. Gone are the days of adding inessential items to food for aesthetics or always attempting to add useless ‘superfoods’ to be in the hubbub or appeal to the higher class. Zebra cafe knows what ingredients make a good meal and sticks to the raw essentials of flavour. Guaranteeing that no matter who you are or what you’re palette is, you’ll have a meal here that appeases your choices in life, and ensures a great day is yet to come. You won’t find another place that nails their food so reliably, again and again and again without failure.

Whether it’s 5am or 3pm you’ll always leave Zebra cafe feeling delighted and cared for, with a perfect roast coffee in hand and a full stomach to match. This place is...

I have made this place my regular. Working from home I look forward to my walk down to Zeebra each day. ☕

💲 Zeebra Café is the best value at Maroubra beach! They are better quality than the mid priced places, and much better value than the higher priced cafés in the area.

🍔 The chicken schnitzel is perfect, the hamburger tastes fresh (unlike the other popular cafe where you can tell its a cheap frozen one, at a higher price). Salad is fresh and exciting, not wilted. I have been pleasantly surprised at every meal.

👌 They know flavours and what needs to be on to give it that something special, sweet chilli sauce on chicken, caramelised onions on the brekky wrap. The chips have a potato crisp flavour

Keep up the good work...

Ended up coming here after exploring the monthly Maroubra Markets nearby. It was a overcast Saturday where my partner and I were seeking some nice food accompanied with a comfortable seating location to avoid the rain.

Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly staff and perused the menu which had many options to choose from. We ended up ordering a Mushroom Bruschetta, Brown Rice Bowl (with slow cooked beef brisket) and an iced mocha with ice cream to share - see photos attached.

The Rice Bowl was definitely the MVP and definitely would reorder.

Overall a great cafe to eat at which I'd have no hesitation recommending to...

We loved our visit to Zebra cafe. Service was friendly. Cheerful music played. Mothers with kids were pulling in. Toys for kids on the shelf with the help your self sunscreen. Delicious strawberry smoothies. Tangy orange raspberry and peach frappe. Pancakes so good we ordered two plates. Bacon &eggs roll didn't look impressive but tasted wonderful. Acai Bowl looked impressive but I have discovered I do not like Acai. It is like a frappe in a bowl. That said the fruit was fresh and the granola (museli) was yummy. They offered to pick the Acai in a takeaway container, I did and my husband discoveredat home he didn't like Acai either!

A nice spot located a very short walk from the beach, with ample seating inside and outside. Most of the food was pretty bland (not bad, just not exciting), though some was a little more interesting. It came quickly and wasn't overly expensive (though it wasn't cheap either), so I suspect it's more about the location than the food. Coffee was good, with a string flavour and good latte art. Top marks for that. Highchairs were available and staff were very friendly.
