Dear Angela, Georgette & Bar Milano Team,

I would like to express my gratitude for all your hard work in looking after my 30th birthday event.

Angela and Georgette, from the start of the enquiry process to the planning of the actual event, not only did you both go above and beyond for me but you were both so professional, thorough and flexible. I have held countless of events in the past before and this was by far the easiest and most enjoyable process. So thank you to you both immensely, I have no doubt that Bar Milano thrives with the functions and events component let alone everything else that it has to offer.

The entire day, all 51 guests raved on about the quality of the food - how traditionally Italian it was, the produce and the taste was exceptional which is so hard to find nowadays. What really made the day though I believe are the staff and management - I would really like to thank Clem for his care and service, he really made sure everything was on point, from the timing of the food to liaising with all guests. He made me feel so relaxed and I knew I was in good hands. Clem is an asset to Bar Milano, I applaud him and the entire team on the day.

Lastly, the live entertainment performed on the day by Mark Ferris truly made the day for me as it added so much to the atmosphere and the vibe of the event. Not only was he talented with his performance but he was also so accommodating to requests and was super helpful, so friendly and professional. Please pass a huge thanks to Mark.

I will no doubt be recommending Bar Milano for anyone looking to celebrate occassions big or small. My guests are already considering Bar Milano for their own future events and will be back just to enjoy the restaurant in general as I know I will be too! May I also add that the venue itself is aesthetically so gorgeous, I felt like I was transported to Europe!

A beautiful coastal setting with gorgeous waterfront access to the beach. The interior is modern and clean! The live DJ beats gives it a cool, trendy vibe where one can just sit back, and soak in the atmosphere to a house cocktail or dive into their speciality Italian dishes.. Service from everyone was impeccable! 👍⭐️

Bar Milano has over 5 pages of drinks but only 2 pages of food… So you’d think with a small menu to choose from, that they’d get the meals right? Unfortunately this is not the case. I was disappointed in my prawn pasta as it was extremely oily and the finish on the plate was not Instagram photo worthy. I had to use my own serviette to wipe away the sauce splashes around the plate and dab the oil away. It tasted nice but nothing special, I could’ve made it myself really (minus the excessive oil and bad presentation). The portions were small so if you’re looking for a big feed, here isn’t the place for you!

My partner and I ordered the cannoli for dessert. It was a nice touch to have a serving of two pieces. They looked impressive but they tasted very bland and lacked flavour. Sure the filling was ricotta and it’s always subtle but at least mix it with something sweet to give it some FLAVOUR. Lemon, sugar, honey, cinnamon, anything, but please give them flavour! Sprinkle MORE icing sugar if need be.. One bite was enough, we didn’t even bother bringing the other cannoli roll home for our kids, not worth it. Even they would complain that they tasted poorly 😕

However the mocktails were delicious! I guess the name of this place “‘Bar” Milano’ says it all, so if you’re after a “Bar”/drinking establishment rather than a dining experience, then...

On the main strip or esplanade at Maroubra Beach, Bar Milano has filled a much needed gap, by cooking up great Italian food and refreshing drinks to provide a fun and trendy atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for an aperitif, cocktail, tapas or larger plates to be enjoyed by the sea.

We arrived and were greeted immediately by a lovely hostess who offered us dining inside or out. We choose to sit in the back terrace, for we were allowed to take our dog. The lovely staff even gave our puppy some water and a snack.

If you prefer inside, the venue is stylistically on point, plenty of bright white tables and it feels so vibrant in atmosphere. The front of the restaurant has a beautiful Bar where you can sit for a drink and bar snack

We peruse the menu and decide to order some crusty focaccia, lightly fried calamari fritti with aioli and a couple of drinks. We were very impressed with the range and quality of cocktails, with unique offerings and also the fact the venue accommodated by making some pretty good mocktails too.

For our mains, we shared the spaghetti seafood with chilli & parsley. We love that the pasta is made fresh in house and it had a good mix or squid, mussels and prawns. Not too spicy and nicely seasoned.

We also shared the cotoletta alla milanese which is essentially a delicious breaded veal (like a schnitzel) served with a lemon edge and refreshing coleslaw (not too creamy which we liked). Totally would order this again.

We finished off the meal with a banoffee semi Freddo, complete with tempered chocolate and caramelised banana.
